WWE NXT presented New Year’s Evil 2024 TV special show on January 2 to kick off the year. NXT Women’s Championship was on the line on the show where Lyra Valkyrie faced Blair Davenport. NXT Breakout Tournament final, Trick Williams vs Grayson Waller and Tiffany Stratton vs Fallon Henley were some of the matches on the show. Check below for the complete results.

RESULTS


Lyra Valkyria (c) defeated Blair Davenport to retain NXT Women’s Championship. Valkyria set up the finish by dropping Blair’s knee on the announce deck. Later in the ring, Blair’s knee gave out to allow Valkyria to hit spinning heel kick to get the pinfall.

After the match, Lola Vice tried to cash in her title shot that she won in NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Tatum Paxley attacked Vice and Elektra Lopez. Valkyria & Paxley continued with Lopez & Vice.

Presenter Kelly Kincaid revealed that Ilja Dragunov was not cleared to compete tonight to defend NXT Championship, leading to cancelling the match.

Carlito, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro defeated No Quarter Catch Crew (Drew Gulak, Damon Kemp, & Myles Borne). Carlito replaced Dragon Lee in this match to make his NXT debut.

Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes were backstage where they were interrupted by Grayson Waller. After some provocation from Waller, Hayes proposed a match between Trick and Waller for Williams’ #1 Contendership status. Waller accepted but Trick was shocked at the proposal.

We got a vignette for Riley Osbourne before NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament final.

Arianna Grace defeated Roxanne Perez in a singles match. Perez pinned Grace after a short match by hitting Pop Rox. Arianna Grace shouted at Perez after the match, which led to Perez beating up Grace in response. Perez locked in crossface on Grace. The referees tried to separate them, but when Perez did not let go, the referee changed the decision of the match to announce Grace as the winner.

Ava told Kelly Kincaid that NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin from next week.

Nikkita Lyons & Blair Davenport got into a verbal fight backstage before crew separated them.

Fallon Henley defeated Tiffany Stratton in Ranch Hand or Servant Match. Henley stopped Stratton from using a steel chair before hitting her with running knee to get the pinfall. Stratton has to become Henley’s ranch hand for a day.

Baron Corbin asked Bron Breakker to team up for the Dusty Rhodes Classic. Breakker agreed after giving it a thought.

We got a video package for Oba Femi also before Breakout final.

Cora Jade and Gigi Dolin got into an argument after Dolin was sitting on Jade’s locker. They got separated by others in the locker room.

Ridge Holland was interviewed backstage to talk about injury mishaps including injuring Ilja Dragunov a couple of weeks ago.

Oba Femi defeated Riley Osborne in the final of NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament. Femi countered Osborne’s shooting star press with knees before hitting powerbomb to get the pinfall.

In a video package, OTM promised they would win the NXT Tag Titles from The Family.

Kiana James & Izzy Dame were interviewed backstage where they promised to make 2024 their year.

Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes got into an argument over putting Trick’s title shot on the line against Grayson Waller. Williams asked Hayes to stay in the back for his match against Grayson Waller.

Jacy Jayne scolded Andre Chase for not handling Chase University properly. Jayne announced that that Duke Hudson & Riley Osbourne will be in the Dusty Rhodes Classic.

Tatum Paxley & Lyra Valkyria were backstage where Paxley said that if Valkyria was still champion, all was right in the world.

Axiom & Nathan Frazer were backstage where they agreed to enter NXT Dusty Rhodes Classic. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade interrupted them callling then not a real tag team & that they were going to lose.

The Family’s Tony D’Angelo, Stacks and Adrianna Rizzo cut a promo backstage in a parking lot. Joe Gacy popped out of the trunk of their car and told The Family that he dealt with the body.

Trick Williams defeated Grayson Waller to retain his NXT Championship #1 Contender status. Carmelo Hayes came to the ring apron to distract the referee. Trick was also arguing with Hayes. Kevin Owens popped up from the crowd to punch Waller in the jaw with his cast hand before throwing him back into the ring. Trick hit Busaiku Knee on Waller to get the win.
