WWE NXT May 2, 2023 Preview & Match Card
WWE NXT has an important episode on May 2, 2023, before some to the stars of the show leave for the main roster. Two title matches are set apart from several other singles matches as the build-up for NXT Battleground 2023 starts. Check below for the complete preview and match card for the show.
North American Title Match
Master will try to achieve what his pupil could not a few weeks back. Drew Gulak has challenged NXT North American Champion Wes Lee for the title just two weeks after Charlie Dempsey failed to do so. Will Gulak be successful where Dempsey failed? Will we see a title change here?
Women’s Tag Titles Match
NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn were drafted to SmackDown. However, they would defend their titles one more time against Katana chance and Kayden Carter before heading to the blue brand.
The Grudge Match
Jacy Jayne did not leave Gigi Dolin alone and cost her the ladder match at Stand & Deliver. She did not stop there though, and kept insulting Dolin, calling her ignorant for leaving his brother with her deadbeat mom. Dolin responed by calling for a rematch and also said that her brother would be in the front row to witness this match.
Battle of Joes with Tag Title Stakes
Joe Gacy called upon Joe Coffey and asked for a tag team rematch for the Dyad. Gacy argued that The Creed Brothers were the ones who were pinned during the three-way tag team match. Joe Coffey did not believe it was his problem though. Gacy then proposed a singles match between with the stipulation that the Dyad will get the tag title rematch if Gacy wins. Coffey added that The Dyad would never get a title shot if Gacy loses.
McDonagh One Last Time
JD McDonagh was drafted to RAW in WWE Draft 2023 and will be on the brand from May 8 onwards. But, he will be here on May 2 NXT episode where he would face Dragon Lee in a singles match. A win here for Lee will be a big one. Will he be able to achieve it?
Other Matches
Scrypts is after Axiom for a long time now, but Axiom has been able to thwart most of his attacks until now. Does Scrypts has some more tricks up his sleeve? And will Axiom be up for it?
Damon Kemp is here to provide Eddy Thorpe with a stiffer challenge than his debut bout in NXT.
Danny Palmer will make her in-ring debut. Her friend Sol Ruca was attacked and ruled for the rest of the year. Will she be successful in her debut without her?
What Else to Expect?
NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell is drafted to RAW now. Will she relinquish the title? Or will we see her defend it against someone?
Will Bron Breakker respond to Carmelo Hayes’ rematch call?
