WWE NXT Great American Bash 2021 Results

Welcome to the live blog for WWE NXT Great American Bash 2021 event. The stage is set for the Tuesday Night Special event with 4 matches and two big segments being announced.

The main event will be another Unsanctioned match between Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly. This will be the second time that these two men will clash in an unsanctioned match. The previous encounter was the co-main event for NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night 2. The rivalry is going on since Valentine’s Day.

NXT Tag Team Championship match will see MSK defend the titles against Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa. Candice LeRae will defend the Women’s Tag Team titles against Zoey Stark and Io Shirai. The Million Dollar title will also be on the line in the match between LA Knight and Cameron Grimes.

Hit-Row will celebrate Isaiah “Swerve” Scott’s NXT North American Title win at the show tonight. Johnny Gargano wants to put an end to the attacks from NXT Champion Karrion Kross and wants to come face-to-face with him.

NXT Great American Bash 2021 Quick Results

  • MSK(Wes Lee & Nash Carter) (c) defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher via pinfall to retain NXT Tag Team Championship.
  • LA Knight defeated Cameron Grimes via pinfall to retain Million Dollar Title. Grimes will become LA Knight’s Butler now.
  • Zoey Stark & Io Shirai defeated The Way(Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell) via pinfall to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.
  • Adam Cole defeated Kyle O’Reilly via pinfall in an Unsanctioned singles match.

MSK (c) vs Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher – NXT Tag Team Championship Match

The show opens with a brief video package for tonight’s matches. MSK enters for the match. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher follow soon. The announcement gets done and we are ready to go. Carter and Ciampa start the match.

Ciampa takes Carter to the corner. Carter tries to use his speed to come out of an arm twist but Ciampa hits a big chop. Carter hits a corkscrew forearm. Ciampa tags in Thatcher who goes to work on Carter’s arm. Lee tags in and Thatcher goes to beat them both. Ciampa comes in and they hit stereo blows to the chest of their opponents. Carter and Ciampa go back to the apron and Thatcher goes to work on Lee.

Thatcher puts on a single leg Boston Crab while putting pressure on the neck. Ciampa hits a big chop and then charges in with a big elbow. Lee gets to his feet from a headlock and hits a dropkick to take control. Carter tags in and runs rampant on Ciampa with quick moves. Thatcher pushes Ciampa out of the way when Carter was going for a moonsault on the floor and takes the move. Ciampa hits a suicide dive on MSK to send us to a break.

Carter counters to tag in Lee as we return. Lee with a clothesline to Ciampa and then a dropkick on his neck. Thatcher saves Ciampa once again. Ciampa hits a big knee as Lee was entering the ring. Carter comes in for some quick double team moves as Thatcher comes in. Thatcher gets the control back against Carter and takes him to his corner. Quick tags between Ciampa and Thatcher as beat up Carter. Carter tries to fight back but Ciampa halts his attempt. They trade strikes for a while. Carter hits a ripcord knee to Ciampa and tags in Ciampa. Thatcher also comes in and accidentally knocks over Ciampa with an uppercut.

More back and forth action and Ciampa drops Lee on his knees for a near fall. Lee counters the fairytale ending and hits a German suplex into a pin attempt for a two-count. Lee and Carter run rampant on Ciampa. Carter hits a 450-splash and Lee hits a corkscrew splash from the top. Thatcher breaks the pin. Thatcher takes back the control. He lets Ciampa hit the fairytale ending and puts on the ankle lock on Lee. Lee counters into an inside cradle to get the pin out of nowhere.

Winners – MSK(Wes Lee & Nash Carter)(retains NXT Tag Team Titles)

We see the battery charging teaser once again. It is charged to 91% now. Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly are shown entering the arena for their main event match.

Gargano & Kross Come Face to Face

William Regal is in the ring with Samoa Joe. Regal announces NXT Champion Karrion Kross and Johnny Gargano to come out to talk about the issues in the last few weeks. Gargano enters, followed by Kross. Gargano says he is living rent-free in his mind. Regal cuts him off quickly and announces the NXT title match between Gargano and Kross. Kross says he did not try to run Gargano over last week, but it was Gargano who was coming in his way.

Kross goes on and talk about how he wants to main event WrestleMania someday and become the WWE Champion. As things get heated up, Regal announces that Samoa Joe will be the special referee for the match. Gargano exits but takes a last shot at Kross saying that he could not even lace his wife’s(Candice LeRae) boots. Kross was going to attack Gargano but Samoa Joe comes in between them. The segment ends as Gargano leaves to the back while taunting Kross.

Back from the break, we get a promo from NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida. He talks about Diamond Mine attacking him after his match against Kyle O’Reilly. He wants to fight them.

LA Knight vs Cameron Grimes – Million Dollar Title Match, If Grimes Loses, He will become Knight’s Butler

We get a brief package for the match. Cameron Grimes makes his entrance. Knight follows soon. The bell rings and they go at it.

Grimes sends Knight out of the ring right away. He hits a penalty kick from the apron and takes Knight back to the ring. Grimes hits a crossbody splash from the top to get a two-count. Knight hits an elbow as Grimes charges at him. Knight hits more punches in the corner. Grimes whips him to the other corner. Knight goes for a springboard move but Grimes catches him with a forearm to get a two-count.

Grimes puts on a chin lock in the middle of the ring. Knight comes out of the ring and manages to send Grimes into the turnbuckle. Knight hits a body slam to get a two-count. We cut to a break.

Knight hits a knee to the midsection as we return. Grimes hits a standing Spanish fly after running the ropes. They trade strikes as they get to their feet. Grimes gets the upper hand and unloads on Knight. He hits back to back forearm strikes before slamming Knight to the mat for a near fall. Grimes with a clothesline in the corner. He goes for a German suplex but Knight counters and drops Grimes from the torture rack.

Knight goes for a cutter but Grimes goes for a backslide attempt to get a two-count. Grimes goes to the top and Knight hits him with a superplex to get a two-count. Knight is frustrated now that he could not get the pin. Knight goes and brings in the Million Dollar title. The referee takes the title away. They trade pin attempts. Grimes hits the poison-rana to get a near fall.

Grimes was going for his finisher but Knight goes out of the ring. Knight catches Grimes on the apron and hits a DDT on the Million Dollar title. Grimes barely beats the 10-count from the referee. It does not matter though as Knight hits his finisher to get the pin.

Winner – LA Knight(Cameron Grimes to Become Knight’s Butler)

The participants for the NXT Breakout Tournament, which starts next week, are announced. Trey Baxter, Carmelo Hayes, Andre Chase, Josh Briggs, Ikemen Jiro, Joe Gacy, Odyssey Jones and Duke Hudson are all on the stage. Duke Hudson vs Ikemen Jiro is announced for next week.

The Way(Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell) vs Zoey Stark & Io Shirai – NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark make their entrance for the match. The Champions also enter. A face-off in the ring before the match starts.

Hartwell starts the match by slamming Io to the mat. Shirai counters with a move of her own. Candice tags in for some double team but Io counters to hit a missile dropkick on Indi. Io tags in Stark to double suplex on Indi. Stark hits a superkick. Indi catches her with a back elbow and slams her face into the turnbuckle. Stark rolls out to the floor as we cut to a break.

Stark tries to get out of the chin lock but Indi slams her to the mat. Stark counters and hits a kick to Indi. LeRae and Io tags in. Io with a clothesline, a dropkick to get the upper hand. Io tags in Stark and hits running knees in the corner. Stark slams LeRae to the mat. Io misses the splash from the top and LeRae puts her in the GargaNo Escape. Stark tries to break the submission but Indi stops Stark and applies The Silence on Stark while LeRae has the submission on Shirai. The holds are broken.

LeRae hits a German suplex and Stark breaks the pin. Indi slams Io to the mat to get another two-count. Io catches Candice in a cradle for a two-count. Candice drops Io and tags in Indi. The lights go off. We see the battery charger getting to 100%. Tegan Nox is on the stage as the lights come back. As they come back, Shirai catches Indi with a kick as she goes for a springboard. Shirai dropkicks both Indi and Candice. Stark tags in and hits her finisher on Hartwell for the pin to win the titles.

Winner – Zoey Stark & Io Shirai(wins NXT Women’s Tag Team titles)

After the match, Hartwell and Shirai celebrate their win. Nox runs after LeRae and attacks her. They get to the ring and Nox unloads on her. LeRae escapes and retreats, running to the back. Nox chases her. Shirai and Stark are handed the title belts now. They stand tall in the middle of the ring as we go to replays. Shirai and Stark celebrate with the titles.

Back from the break and McKenzie is backstage with Toni Storm. She cuts a promo on NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez being afraid to step in the ring with her. She also dismisses Sarray wanting a match with her, saying she’s not on her level.

We see footage from during the commercial break of Dexter Lumis carrying Indi Hartwell away from the ring.

We go back to the arena. Hit Row are on the stage for their Championship Cypher. Ashante “Thee” Adonis is on the DJ. Briana Brandy raps first, followed by “Top Dolla” AJ Francis. New NXT North American Champion Isaiah “Swerve” Scott then performs a song while B-Fab holds his title. The whole group then gathers on the ramp to perform their theme song and head to the ring together.

McKenzie is backstage with William Regal and Samoa Joe. Regal says he is pleased with the show tonight. Regal says he is looking forward to next week’s NXT Title match between Johnny Gargano and champion Karrion Kross. Joe says he doesn’t seek to change the trajectory of next week’s match and as long as he’s provoked, he won’t be getting involved. Joe says may the best man win.

Adam Cole vs Kyle O’Reilly – Unsanctioned Match

They lock up and go to the ropes. The referee separates them. They lock up again and Cole takes KOR down first. Kyle turns it around as they tangle some more on the mat. Cole rolls Kyle over for a 2 count. Kyle goes for a big kick but Cole dodges it and retreats to the floor. KOR looks on from the ring as Cole stares back from the floor. Back to commercial.

Kyle with more strikes on the back. He catches Cole with a big kick. Cole goes to the floor. KOR misses a knee strike and Cole runs him over with a clothesline. Cole hits a big kick and gets a two-count. Cole shakes off his hand before returning to attack KOR. Cole hits a neckbreaker for a two-count. Cole whips KOR hard into the turnbuckle. Cole wraps his leg around KOR’s neck.

Cole gets him in the Fireman’s carry and KOR counters to come down and hits a knee. KOR with a bulldog and a forearm on the corner. KOR hits double underhook takedowns and a DDT to get another two-count. KOR is now working on Cole’s left knee with sidekicks and enziguiri. Cole drops him for a two-count. Cole tells KOR that he is better than him. KOR gets angry and starts to unload with punches in the corner. Cole slips out of the corner and hits a superkick on the knee against the turnbuckle. Cole slams KOR’s knee in the ring post as we cut to the break.

We return for a double clothesline spot and both men are down. They get back to their feet and trade forearm strikes. KOR seems to be getting better of the exchange when Cole hits a big knee strike. KOR hits a dragon screw on Cole’s injured knee. KOR blocks the brainbuster and they trade more strikes. Cole hits a chop block and a running knee to get a near fall. Cole is looking for the Panama Sunrise but KOR moves away. Cole catches him with a superkick. KOR hits a suplex for a two-count.

They trade strikes once again. KOR goes for the armbar. Cole tries to switch it to a leg lock but KOR transitions into a pin attempt for a two-count. Cole puts on figure four. KOR is trying to turn it around. He manages to put another leg lock. Cole reaches the ropes to force the break. They get back to their feet. Cole hits an enziguiri. KOR hits with a knee to the face and a kick to the back of the neck. Cole counters the German suplex and manages to throw KOR out of the ring.

Cole hits Panama Sunrise on the floor. Cole brings him back to the ring and covers for the pin. KOR gets his feet on the bottom rope. Cole goes for the Last shot but KOR grabs his leg. Cole hits a superkick and KOR htis him with a clothesline. KOR hits the brainbuster. He goes for the knee drop from the top but misses it. Cole hits the last shot but KOR kicks out of the pin once again.

Cole was looking for another Panama Sunrise but KOR moves away. Cole with more kicks and sets up for another Panama Sunrise. KOR catches him a knee strike. Cole comes back and drops him. Cole finally hits the Panama Sunrise once again and follows with the Last shot for the pin and the win.
