Isaiah Scott Dethrones Bronson Reed as the NXT North American Championship
Isaiah “Swerve” Scott became the new NXT North American Champion by defeating Bronson Reed on this week’s NXT episode.
Scott’s stable, Hit Row, has been taunting Bronson Reed for the past few weeks. This week, “Swerve” Scott interrupted Reed’s interview as he was talking about NXT Breakout Tournament.
Scott mocked him by saying that it is difficult to believe that Reed is the first person from the Breakout Tournament to become a champion. The other Hit Row member asked Reed for the title match against Scott, which Reed agreed to.
The match took in the main event of the show and Hit Row members – “Top Dolla” AJ Francis, Ashante “Thee” Adonis and “B-Fab” Briana Brandy – ran interference to help Scott. Scott was able to catch Reed with an attack on the apron and hit 450 splash to get the pin. This is the first title reign for Scott.
Scott signed with NXT in 2019 and was part of the first NXT Breakout Tournament. Reed has won the North American title on 18 May episode of NXT from Johnny Gargano in a steel cage match.
Reed has got a trail for main roster in last two weeks and also appeared in a match on Main Event against Drew Gulak. It is speculated that the main roster call up has resulted in Reed dropping the title to Scott.
