Trunk Match & Mixed Tag Among 5 Matches Set for NXT Spring Breakin’
WWE has added 5 more matches to NXT Spring Breakin’ 2023 TV special including a title match, first ever Trunk Match and a mixed tag team match.
Bron Breakker continued building on his new heel turn as he speared Odessey Jones without any issue. His following promo was cut short by Duke Hudson who challenged Breakker to take on Andre Chase after he speared Chase last week and tore down Chase U flag. Breakker promptly agreed to the match.
Cora Jade and Lyra Valkyrie will clash in a singles match 3 months after it was originally announced in January. The rivalry between Jade and Lyra resumed when Lyra took offense to Jade taking shots at everyone in the women’s division and told her to be away from the title. Jade defeated Gigi Dolin on this week’s episode, following which Lyra told her that they would have a match next week.
Talking of the NXT Women’s title, Indi Hartwell announced that she will defend the title against both Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton in a triple threat match. Indi initally wanted to defend it against Perez but Stratton took offense on Indi overlooking her for the title match and called her the most beatable champion. Indi took offense to that and decided to add Stratton to the match.
Brooks Jensen presented a new look and character this week on NXT and he has now challenged her former friends Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley to a mixed tag team match. He would be partnered by Kiana James.
Pretty Deadly responded to Tony D’Angelo and Stacks abducting them last week by issuing a challenge for a tag team match. Tony and Stacks responded by making it the first ever Trunk match in NXT.
NXT Spring Breakin’ 2023 takes place on April 25, 2023. The complete line-up is as below:
