Shayna Wayne Assists Christian Cage in Beating Adam Copeland

During December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, Christian Cage defended his TNT Championship against Adam Copeland in Montreal. The match was intense and hard-fought, with Copeland coming close to victory several times.
However, as the match reached its climax, Shayna Wayne, Nick Wayne’s mother, entered the ring. Seizing the opportunity when Cage had incapacitated the referee, she grabbed the TNT Championship and struck Copeland with it.

Cage took advantage of the situation by executing a Killswitch followed by a forceful stomp on Copeland’s neck, leading to the pinfall. Medical personnel promptly attended to Copeland after the match concluded. Cage’s victory marked only his second televised win against Copeland.
On the November 22 episode of AEW Dynamite, Copeland executed a con-chair-to move on Nick Wayne in front of Shayna.
Copeland and Cage shared a history of teaming up as Edge and Christian in WWE. However, they hadn’t competed against each other since 2010 due to early retirements.
Copeland’s moved to AEW, making his debut at AEW WrestleDream and setting the stage for a long-awaited clash with Cage. Their paths had been heading towards a collision ever since.
