Ronda Rousey might be returning to Royal Rumble after all.
As happens around every big WWE event since WrestleMania 2019, the rumors around Ronda Rousey’s return start circulating. However, this might be the year those rumors turn out to be true.
Ronda Rousey Returns at Royal Rumble
Earlier this week, the reports came out that WWE is in talks with Ronda Rousey to return at Royal Rumble or at WrestleMania 38 in April. Later, it was confirmed that WWE officials held talks with Ronda to return at Royal Rumble, or rather, they are “pushing” for her to return at Royal Rumble. It was also added that Ronda will fly in St. Louis on the day of the event itself.
In a new report, Dave Meltzer, on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rousey will be returning tonight to WWE at Royal Rumble. However, Meltzer added that it is not clear whether she will be in the women’s Royal Rumble Match or will only feature in any other angle.
Meltzer adds that the plans for Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey for WrestleMania 38 are still on. However, in an interesting twist, it was reported that Ronda will be a regular on SmackDown. However, she will make a few appearances on RAW.
Ronda’s Contract Situation
Ronda originally signed a three-year contract in 2018. However, she left the promotion to start a family just one year into contract.
It is reported that WWE likely froze her contract after she left, which will likely mean that Ronda still has about 2 years left in her contract. It is either that or she has signed a new one-year contract.
