Roman Reigns Retains Against Goldberg at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022
Roman Reigns won the war of Spears as he retained his Universal Championship against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at the Elimination Chamber 2022 PPV event.
Goldberg hits Roman Reigns with two vicious spears in the initial minutes to the match. However, the Head of the Table refused to stay down. Roman Reigns also fired back with the Superman punch and a spear of his own.
After Goldberg hit another spear, Roman countered Jackhammer with a guillotine lock. Goldberg slams Roman to the corner several times to come out of guillotine choke before passing out. The referee stopped the match and raised the hand of The Tribal Chief as the winner.
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg shockingly returned to WWE on the February 4 episode of SmackDown and challenged Roman Reigns for a match at Elimination Chamber.
These two heavyweights were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania 36. However, Roman Reigns pulled out of the match due to health concerns. The tables have turned in this contest as Goldberg was holding the title at that time while he was coming in as a challenger this time around.
Goldberg has also announced earlier that he only has one match left in his WWE contract. It remains to be seen if this indeed turns out to be his last match in WWE.
Roman Reigns will now go on to defend the Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. It remains to be seen if Lesnar is able to win WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber to turn their WrestleMania match into a title vs title match.
