Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston #1 Contender Match Announced for RAW 31 May

Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston WWE RAW 31 May 2021

Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston match is announced for next week’s WWE RAW episode, with the winner facing Bobby Lashley for WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell 2021 PPV.

Last week on RAW, Kofi Kingston pinned Lashley in a singles match after interference from Drew McIntyre. On last night’s RAW, Lashley and MVP said Kofi’s win was merely a fluke, and it would not have happened without Drew’s interference.

Drew and Kofi came out and asked for a WWE title match against Lashley. WWE Official Adam Pearce then announced a match between McIntyre and Kofi right away, with the winner getting the title shot at Hell in a Cell PPV.

Lashley and MVP were on the stage to watch the match between Kofi and McIntyre. McIntyre taunted Lashley during the match, which led to Lashley moving to ringside. Near the end, Kofi’s dive sent McIntyre into Lashley. Lashley and MVP responded by attacking Kofi and McIntyre to cause a double disqualification.

Both McIntyre and Kofi went to complain to Pearce about the disqualification. Pearce set up another match between them for next week’s RAW episode(31 May 2021), with the winner facing Lashley at Hell in a Cell 2021. McIntyre asked him to ensure Lashley and MVP do not interfere.

Pearce called Lashley and MVP and told them that they would be banned from ringside for the match between McIntyre and Kofi. And if they would interfere, Lashley will be suspended from WWE for 90 days without pay.

Lashley’s WWE title defense is just the second match announced for this year’s Hell in a Cell PPV airing on 20 June 2021. Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair match was also announced for Hell in a Cell on RAW this week.
