In the latest episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho revealed that he offered to host Blood & Guts in his backyard at the beginning of the pandemic.

AEW reportedly wanted to host Blood & Guts and featured a match between The Elite and The Inner Circle. However, the Covid-19 pandemic ruined their plans, and the company had to wait for an entire year. It finally aired on May 5, 2021, and featured a match between The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle.

Chris Jericho who has one of the most creative minds in the wrestling industry pitched to host Blood & Guts in his own backyard in the form of an island deathmatch.

In the recent episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho interviewed 2.0. During the talk, he revealed the time when he offered to host Blood & Guts in his backyard. Fightful posted the entire statement of Jericho. It reads,

“We’re actually sitting in my backyard right now. When the lockdown started, at one point we were still thinking about maybe doing Blood & Guts last year and there was nowhere to do it. I was like, ‘Why don’t we do it in my backyard and do kind of one of those Inoki/Saito Island Deathmatch things?’ There’s plenty of room here. That’s the thing, there’s a different backyard version here than what you would have done back in the day.”

It is obvious that didn’t happen but the company did use backyards to host other kinds of cinematic matches. In the same podcast, Chris Jericho also mentioned that Matt Lee and Jeff Parker of 2.0 signed with AEW.
