Iyo Sky vs Zelina Vega Title Match Set for WWE SmackDown August 25
Iyo Sky will defend WWE Women’s Championship against Zelina Vega on SmackDown August 25, 2023 episode.
WWE announced the match on Thursday via their website and social media. This will be Iyo’s first televised title defense of WWE Women’s title that she won at Summerslam 2023 after cashing in MITB briefcase against Bianca Belair.
Bianca and Charlotte Flair defeated Iyo Sky and Bayley in a tag team match last week. The rivalry also includes Asuka who was the champion heading into Summerslam, but lost it to Bianca in a triple threat match at the event.

Zelina Vega has got some key victories in singles matches in the past few months. She also challenged Rhea Ripley for SmackDown Women’s Championship earlier this year at Backlash event in Puerto Rico.
If Zelina wins, she will become the second member of LWO to win a title after Rey Mysterio, who won WWE United States Championship two weeks ago. Mysterio is also set to face Grayson Waller in a non-title match at SmackDown this week.
August 25, 2023 edition of Smackdown will air from Louisville, KY. During the show, WWE is also expected to pay tribute to Bray Wyatt who passed away on Thursday. Jimmy Uso is also set to return after missing the show last week. The line-up for the show is as below:
