Oba Femi Set for Title Defense at NXT Battleground 2024
A title match is announced for NXT Battleground 2024 event as Oba Femi is set to defend North American Championship.
Former Champion Wes Lee, who returned to NXT a few weeks ago, came out to the ring to talk about how NXT and the North American title inspired him to get cleared quickly after his back surgery. Oba Femi interrupted him and told him that Lee had already done his work with the title and it was his turn to take it to greater heights.
Josh Briggs interrupted them followed by Ivar. Both men also staked their claims for a title shot although both of them had lost in their previous opportunities. Wes Lee suggested that Femi defend the title in a fatal 4-way match but Femi replied that they should all fight amongst them to find him his next opponent.
Later in the show, it was announced that Lee, Briggs and Ivar would clash in a triple threat match next week in the #1 contender match for North American Championship. The winner will get the title shot at Battleground 2024 event which is set for June 9. This is the just the second match announced for the show after ladder match to crown the inaugurual Women’s North American Champion.
