WWE SmackDown May 24: Semifinals, Bayley’s Match, Styles’ Meeting Set
WWE Women’s Champion Bayley will be in action at WWE SmackDown episode of May 24, 2024, along with semifinals of King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments while AJ Styles is set for a meeting.
Bayley had an argument with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven backstage this week on SmackDown after Green accused Bayley’s ju-ju of being the reason for Piper’s loss last week in the Queen of the Ring tournament. Bayley told Green to stop talking and meet her in the ring next week.
AJ Styles was asked about his back-to-back losses at Backlash against Cody Rhodes and then against Randy Orton in the first round match of King of the Ring. Styles replied that he would talk to SmackDown Manager Nick Aldis next week to find his way forward.
Bianca Belair is set to face Nia Jax in the SmackDown semifinal of Queen of the Ring 2024 tournament. Bianca fought Tiffany Stratton in the quarterfinal and was able to fight through her knee injury to win the match. Nia faced Jade Cargill in the other quarterfinal which ended in a disqualification as Jade hit a chair shot after Nia agitated her by talking trash to her daughter.
Randy Orton has set up a semifinal of King of the Ring 2024 against The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga. Tonga defeated LA Knight in the quarterfinal with the help of outside distraction from the Bloodline. Orton defeated Carmelo Hayes in the other quarterfinal.
May 24, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown will be the first one to air live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The show takes place one day before King & Queen of the Ring 2024 event. The announced line-up for the show is as below:
