David Finlay & Evil Qualify for NJPW G1 Climax 33 Quarterfinals

David Finlay and Evil have qualified for the quarterfinals of the NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament from Block C.
The league phase matches for Block C from G1 Climax 33 ended on night 15 on August 8 in Osaka, Japan. Finlay secured the first position in the group, while Evil came in second.
David Finlay finished at the top of the block with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses, accumulating a total of 10 points. He secured his position by defeating Eddie Kingston. Finlay achieved his five victories against Tomohiro Ishii, Mikey Nicholls, Henare, and Eddie Kingston, and he also managed to defeat Evil, which proved to be beneficial for him to secure 1st position as the tiebreaker.

Evil concluded the competition with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses, accumulating 10 points. He secured the second position by defeating Shingo Takagi in the main event. He only lost to Finaly and Mikey Nicholls during the tournament.
With the completion of Block C, the stage is set for Finlay to face Will Ospreay, who secured the runner-up position in Block B. On the other hand, Evil will go one-on-one against Sanada, the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of A Block.
The D Block final league matches are set for August 9. Kazuchika Okada’s and Hikuleo’s opponents will be revealed tomorrow after the conclusion of Block D matches.
