Bryan Danielson to Step Away from Full-Time Wrestling Next Year

Bryan Danielson might step away from a full-time pro wrestling career by next year, but he might not be gone completely.

Bryan announced in his promo on AEW Collision September 9, 2023 episode that he promised his daughter that he will be him by the time she turns 7. So, this year was going to be his last year of his career. Bryan also promised that he would make it the best year of his career.

Bryan also announced that to start this last year with a dream match against Zack Sabre Jr. at WrestleDream 2023 for the bragging rights of being the best technical wrestler in the world.

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso has added more on Bryan Danielson’s future. His report states that Danielson will be stepping away from wrestling full-time in the next year. However, he will remain a special attraction for AEW after that.

This means The American Dragon can work a deal with AEW for limited appearances and matches through the year without working week to week.

Bryan signed with AEW in the middle of 2021 after his WWE contract came to an end. His current deal with come to an end sometime in the middle of 2024, about 1 year from now.
