House of Black will defend their AEW Trios Championship against The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and Billy Gunn at AEW All In 2023 PPV event.

During the August 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) came to the ring and called House Of Black. Following that, the House Of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) made an entrance and ruthlessly attacked The Acclaimed, capitalizing on their numerical advantage.

A surprise was up when Billy Gun came out and forced the House of Black to retreat moving up the ramp. Billy Gunn then addressed the House of Black’s assault on The Acclaimed during the previous episode of AEW Dynamite.

Gunn also mentioned that they had committed a mistake by not only attacking but also burning his shoes. After this, Gunn issued a challenge on behalf of The Acclaimed to the House of Black for a match at the AEW All In 2023 PPV event. Later on, the bout was made official by AEW.

The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn unsuccessfully faced House of Black last on the July 22 episode of AEW Collison for the AEW Trios Championship. After the loss, Gunn left his shoes in the middle of the ring, signaling his retirement.

Gunn has said that by burning his shoes, House of Black have signified that that his Hall of Fame career is nothing. So, he will come back one more time at All In and will bring back “Badass” Billy Gunn.
