Welcome to the live results from AEW Fight for the Fallen 2023 Dynamite special on August 16, 2023, which was live just 10 days before AEW All In 2023.

4 matches were set for the show starting with AEW International Championship match between Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. Britt Baker DMD took on The Bunny as they attempt to qualify for AEW Women’s Championship match at All In. Jeff Jarrett and Jaff Hardy were set to clash in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch.

The Young Bucks were set to clash with another brothers tag team in form of the Gunns. Kenny Omega was set to sit down for an interview with Jim Ross. Chris Jericho informed Don Callis about his decision on joining the Family. AEW World Champion MJF and Adam Cole met to discuss All In main event.

RESULTS

  • Orange Cassidy(c) defeated Wheeler Yuta in a singles match via pinfall to retain AEW International Championship.
  • Darby Allin & Nick Wayne defeated Gates of Agony(Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) in a tag team match via pinfall.
  • Jeff Jarrett defeated Jeff Hardy in Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch via pinfall.
  • Britt Baker DMD defeated The Bunny in AEW All In Women’s Championship Tournament Qualifier via pinfall.
  • The Young Bucks(Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) defeated The Gunns(Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) in a tag team match via pinfall.

LIVE UPDATES

Orange Cassidy(c) vs Wheeler Yuta – AEW International Championship

Yuta ducks Orange punch but Cassidy takes him to the mat with side headlock. Yuta hits an armdrag and a chop. They trade back-and-forth shots for a minute or so. They trade saito suplexes before dropping each other with a big boot at the same time. Yuta forces Cassidy to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Cassidy counters a suplex on the floor. They go up the ramp and Yuta hits a piledriver. He follows up with mocking lazy kicks before a superkick. Cassidy catches him with beach break as they get to the ring. We cut to a break.

Yuta is working on the arm. He hits forearm shots before Cassidy sends him to the floor to hit a suicide dive. He gets to the top rope but Yuta hits him with a superplex. He hits a splash from the top to get a two-count. Cassidy goes for a DDT but his knee gives up. Yuta takes him down with a dragon screw. Cassidy hits a Michinoku driver and a penalty kick before hitting DDT. Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley are out at the ringside. Cassidy throws his elbow pad on them before faking an Orange punch to hit Paradigm shift. He follows up with Orange punch but hurts his hand and cannot go for the cover. Yuta gets him in a pinning predicament. Cassidy gets in a sitout pin to get the pinfall.

Winner – Orange Cassidy

Moxley and Claudio beat up Cassidy after the match. Best Friends come out but BCC deal with them easily. Lucha Bros come out and force them out. BCC pick up steel chairs. Eddie Kingston returns and goes after Claudio and BCC are finally forced to retreat. Eddie takes the mic now and declares a stadium stampede match at Wembley Stadium at All In. It will be BCC & anything they could find vs Eddie, Cassidy and Lucha Bros.

Omega Interview

Kenny Omega is with Jim Ross for an interview. He discusses how Uncle Don Callis was a friend of his real uncle. He tells us about how Callis guided him in his younger days when he was winning all sort of medals. He does not want to take revenge and just move past him. He discusses his history with Konosuke Takeshita before Don Callis appears. Callis engages him in an argument before Bullet Club Gold attack Omega.

After a brief beatdown, we cut to the commentary team who inform us that Hangman Page was at the hospital with Omega. We cut to a promo from Hangman with a beer can in hand, where he challenges Jay White, Juice Robinson & Takeshita for a trios match against him, Omega and Kota Ibushi. Hospital staff comes out and tells him that he can’t drink beer in hospital. Page finishes his beer and hands the empty can to that man.

Jericho Decides

Don Callis is out in the ring now. He brings out Chris Jericho. After the break, Callis gives his sympathies about how Jericho Appreciation behaved with Jericho last week. Jericho says he got to re-evaluate him behavior after that. He reiterates that he makes faction, and does not join them. So, his answer to joining Don Callis family is… yes. He needs to get back to his roots and join a man as vicious as him. Callis and Jericho hug in the ring before deciding to go and celebrate. They were leaving when Jericho gets his eyes on a covered painting in one of the corners.

Callis tries to stop him from unvieling but Jericho goes on to uncovers it. It is a painting with Callis holding Jericho’s cut off head. Callis tries to talk his way out with Jericho, but Jericho wants to tell him the truth. Callis explains that he never thought Jericho would say yes to him because of his massive ego, and he is a narcisstic egotistical man who will never be part of The Don Callis Family. Jericho tells him that nobody cared about him 3 years ago, but he came to AEW because of him. In 3 years, Callis is standing here and still nobody cares.

Jericho keeps berating him on the mic and Callis ends up slapping him. Jericho chokes Callis until Konosuke Takeshita comes into the ring. Jericho keeps the upperhand, but Will Ospreay blindsides Jericho. Takeshita and Ospreay beat up Jericho before Callis hits the painting on Jericho’s head. Sammy Guevara runs out to force them out of the ring.


We get a video package from Jack Perry bragging about beating Rob Van Dam and claims to be the greatest FTW Champion. He says he will retire the title next week.

Gates of Agony(Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs Darby Allin & Nick Wayne

Darby and Nick come out. Gates of Agony attack them from behind on the ramp. They continue to beat them down while Swerve Strickland makes his entrance and sits down on the ramp with AR Fox. Gates of Agony continue to beat up Darby and Nick as we cut to a break.

Nick fights back as we return and tags in Darby who hits quick moves, forces his opponents to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Nick assists him with a superkick. Gates of Agony take control back and hits a double-team backbreaker. Nick comes in to break the pin. Nick and Darby work together to drop Liona off the apron with a hurricanrana. Darby hits Kaun with Code Red to send him into Wayne’s World from Nick. Nick hits Liona with a moonsault on the floor at the same time that Darby hits Kaun with Coffin Drop to get the pinfall.

Winners – Darby Allin & Nick Wayne

After the match, The Mogul Embassy try to surround the ring. But, Sting appears on the big screen and says he is directing a movie now. He reveals he has Prince Nana with him and intimidates him for a while. The Mogul Embassy run to the back.

MJF & Cole

We get a video package of MJF and Adam Cole as they are preparing for All In. MJF says if they’re gonna beat Aussie Open, they need to get inside their head. So, he takes Cole to Outback Steakhouse. Cole is too happy with the restaurant and MJF leaves since he is worried that they are gonna be unbeatable. Cole shows MJF a Crocodile Dundee double feature and MJF shows a video of kangaroos fighting and promises the kangaroo kick is their secret weapon. They get to the arena where they are stalking an inflatable crocodile.

They shake on the double clothesline and blast that plastic reptile back to the stone age with it. Tony Khan calls them into his office and shouts at them for double clothesline backstage. We see them getting to the arena in MJF’s car. Roderick Strong runs up trying to talk to Cole, but they are gone. Strong kicks the car, hurting his foot and leaving the Kingdom to try and calm him down as we go to break.

Cole and MJF make their entrance after the break. Cole says they are a week and a half away from All In, and whoever has tickets for the show should have their butts in the seats by 5 PM BST since they are on the pre-show. MJF says they will finish the match with Kangaroo kick. Cole corrects him by saying that they will win it with a double clothesline. Cole then starts to discuss World title match. Cole says 9 months ago, he did not even know if he was ever gonna wrestle again, but he is now in the main event of the biggest show ever at Wembley, and he is doing it with his best friend. He says he has been on the top of every promotion he has worked with and has broken records. Winning AEW World Championship match is everything for him, and he will do anything to win it.

MJF takes over the promo and tells us that he wrote down two names – Cody Rhodes & Adam Cole- as his opponents he wanted to face from the first day in wrestling business. He talks about doing his bidding in the independent scene before he got to know about All In and he reached out to Cody Rhodes to be part of it. He talks about opening All In 2018 card, which led to Tony Khan approaching him for AEW. He says if it was not All In, there would be no MJF. He moves on to talk about becoming a generational talent in front of our eyes in AEW and becoming the AEW World Champion.

And now, he is going to be in the main event of the biggest wrestling show. It is his honor to headline the show with his friend, but it does not mean everything to him. Triple B means everything to him. He has worked and did everything to obtain this. And Cole is mistaken if he thinks he is gonna lay down for him even though he is a like a brother for him. Cole says, “may the best man win.” MJF replies, “the best man will win, since his name is MJF, and he is Better than You”. They fist bump to close their promo. Aussie Open attack them but Cole and MJF deal with them easily. They set up for double clothesline but Aussie Open slip out. Cole gets ready for a super kick behind MJF but does not hit it when MJF turns around. They hug in the ring to close the segment.


Chris Jericho is interviewed in the medical room. Jericho says if Will Ospreay wanted a match against him, he just had to ask. This match was booked for Wrestle Kingdom in 2021 if the lockdown did not happen. Now, Jericho will face him at Ospreay’s home turf in London. He claims that he will get inside Ospreay’s head, beat him down and drink his blood.

Jeff Jarrett vs Jeff Hardy – Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch

Jeff Hardy makes his entrance but then moves to backstage where Jarrett attacks him. Hardy hits back and whips him into the wall before hitting him with crutches. Satnam Singh chokes Hardy. Ethan Page, Brother Zay and Matt Hardy attack Satnam. Matt pours some ketchup on Jarrett and Karen. Satnam is sent through a barricade. The Jarretts are running away as we cut to a break.

Sonjay Dutt gets involved during the break with a stick. Brawling continues backstage as we return from the break. Jeff Hardy dives on everyone on the floor. He takes Jerrett to the stage and slams him on the announce table. He takes Jerrett down the ramp. Others come out and fight on the stage. Jeff Hardy slams Jarrett with a kendo stick in the ring. Others in his team also come in to beat up Jarrett. They set him up on a table in the ring. Hardy hits him with a Twist of Fate. Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt pulls others from the ring.

Hardy still hits Jarrett with Swanton bomb to put him through the table. Lethal breaks the pin. Page’s Ego’s edge on Lethal is stopped by Sonjay Dutt. Matt hits Lethal with Twist of Fate. Karen saves Sonjay from Matt with a low blow. She brings in a guitar but Jeff Hardy snatches it from him and slams it on Jarrett. Leatherface comes out with a chainsaw and goes after Jarrett’s team. Satnam Singh gets into the ring, but Jeff Hardy avoids a chokeslam. Lethal slams Jeff Hardy with a hammer. Jarrett gets the pinfall.

Britt Baker DMD vs The Bunny – AEW All In Women’s Championship Tournament Qualifier

They start with punches. Baker avoids a corner tackle and gets a two-count with a roll-up. Bunny counters lockjaw quickly. She stomps on Baker’s hand before hitting running knee lift. Baker hits back with an elbow shot and a neckbreaker. Britt Baker looks for a stomp but Bunny avoids it. Ford tries to distract Baker and Bunny runs her over from behind. Britt blocks Rabbit Hole and unloads with forearm shots. Bunny chokes Baker with leg scissors on the ropes. We cut to a break.

Baker sends Bunny into the turnbuckle as we return. Baker fires elbow strikes before ducking a clothesline and hits a rolling elbow. She hits a butterfly suplex to get a two-count. Baker blocks Bunny’s move and hits a twisting neckbreaker to get another two-count. Baker brings out her gloves for lockjaw. Ford takes away her glove. Baker drops her off the apron with an elbow shot. Bunny attacks her from behind before Baker hits a superkick and the curbstomp to get the pinfall.

Winner – Britt Baker

The Acclaimed come out rapping for a match. They get into the ring and the lights go out. House of Black are in the ring when it returns. HOB attack the Acclaimed. Brody King hits punches with chain wrapped around his arm. They hit a double team body slam. The beatdown continues. HOB take away Gunn’s boots with them.

The Young Bucks(Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs The Gunns(Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn)

The Young Bucks attack The Gunns on the ramp. The Gunns turn it around and send The Bucks into the barricade. They get into the ring and Austin starts against Nick. Matt gets a blind tag and joins Nick to hit a double suplex. They hit double hiptoss on Colten to send him into Colten on the mat. The Bucks beat The Gunns in the opposite corners. They hit stereo dropkicks to send them to the floor. Suicide dives follow. The Gunns turn it around with some distraction and double team. Colten stomps on Matt in the corner. Knee lift and a lariat follows in quick succession to take us to a break.

Matt is trying to fight back but the Gunns work together to keep him in their corner. Austin hits a dropkick before Colten knocks off Nick from the apron. Matt is stopped from the tag once again, and has to jump over them to tag in Nick. Nick flies in and hits dropkicks and a doube hurrincanrana. Nick keeps up with quick attack. Matt hits a sliced bread on Austin with help from Nick. Colten tackles The Bucks to stop BTE Trigger. Colten tags in. Austin stops a double team. The Gunns hits 3:10 to Yuma on Matt. Nick breaks the pin. Austin hits a fameasser on Nick. He tries to mimic Omega but Matt avoids v-trigger. The Gunns try to get the pinfall with some underhanded tactics but The Bucks outsmart them and Nick provides leverage to Matt to get the pinfall.

Winners – The Young Bucks

Bullet Club Gold attack The Young Bucks after the match. FTR run out through the crowd to make the save. They use the steel chairs at BCG brought in. The Young Bucks work with them to force BCG to leave. FTR tease Shatter Machine on The Young Bucks, but stop at having a face-off. The show goes off the air.
