AEW Dynamite January 17: Samoa Joe vs Hook World Title Match Set

Samoa Joe will defend his AEW World Championship against Hook on January 17, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite.
On January 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Joe initiated his promotional speech, explicitly introducing a new “Championship Protocol.” He announced that individuals seeking a chance at his championship must present their case to the championship committee for evaluation of their merit.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of refraining from complaining both on the microphone and on social media.

Soon after, Swerve Strickland interrupted, expressing his intentions, and Hangman Page emerged, asserting his claim alongside Strickland. Strickland eventually departed, leaving Page and Joe in a brief face-to-face confrontation.
Once Joe was alone in the ring again, Hook entered and explicitly stated his desire to face Joe in “one week.” Hook also cut a promo calling out Joe in the last week’s Collision episode.
Joe won AEW World title at AEW World End 2023 event by defeating MJF. The next week’s match will mark Joe’s first title defense.
January 17, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite will be live from North Charleston Coliseum, North Charleston, SC. This is the only match announced for the show so far.
