Dustin Poirier vs Benoît Saint-Denis UFC 299 Co-Main Event Revealed
Dustin Poirier will face Benoît Saint-Denis at UFC 299 PPV event, Dana White has announced.
The announcement came late on Sunday night via another social media video from UFC President where he revealed that Poirier vs Saint-Denis bout would be the co-main event at UFC 299. The bout will be 5 rounds in the lightweight division.
Dustin Poirier is coming off a loss to Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 291 PPV which was for BMF title. Gaethje lost the bout via head kick in second round. Prior to this, Poirier beat Michael Chandler via third-round submission.
Benoit Saint-Denis is on a 5-fight winning streak after losing his UFC debut. In 2023 itself, he had wins over Ismael Bonfim(first round submission), Thiago Moises(second round TKO) and Matt Frevola(first round KO).
UFC 299 event is set to take place on March 9, 2024, in Miami, FL. Sean O’Malley vs Marlon Vela bantamweight title bout is the main event. The show also has more welterweight high profile bouts in MVP vs Kevin Holland and Jack Della Maddalena vs Gilbert Burns.
