A fight between Steve Garcia Jr. and Melquizael Costa has been reported for UFC Vegas 83 event.
According to the report from MMA Melotto, Garcia Jr. and Costa are set to clash in a bantamweight bout at UFC’s December 9, 2023, event.
Steve Garcia Jr. and Melquizael Costa were previously scheduled to fight at UFC Austin event. However, the fight was canceled due to Garcia falling ill just before the weigh-in.

Steve Garcia Jr. was also previously set to fight Sean Woodson at UFC on ESPN 50, but the bout got canceled due to Garcia withdrawing from the match. Garcia Jr. is currently on a two-fight winning streak, securing a victory by KO against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at UFC 287 and defeating Chase Hooper in a prior bout.
Melquizael Costa has competed in two matches within the UFC, securing one victory and suffering one loss. In his most recent bout at UFC Vegas 77, he claimed a unanimous decision victory against Austin Lingo. However, his first bout in the promotion occurred at UFC 283, resulting in a loss in his debut against Thiago Moisés via submission.
UFC Vegas 83 event is set to take place on December 9, 2023, at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. A flyweight fight is also set for the event, where Su Mudaerji will face Allan Nascimento.
