Rafael Fiziev Suffered ACL Torn Injury at UFC Vegas 79
Rafael Fiziev has revealed that he suffered a torn ACL during his loss to Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 79 event.
Fiziev announced via his Instagram post that he tore his ACL during his second-round TKO loss to Mateusz Gamrot in the UFC Fight Night 228 main event.
Fiziev did not specify when he would return, but a standard recovery period for a torn ACL is typically at least eight to ten months. Fiziev has sustained an injury in his left leg.
During the match, Gamrot blocked Fiziev’s body kick which caused the injury to Fiziev. As Fiziev dropped to the mat, Gamrot jumped on him with punches to force the referee to end the fight at 2:03 in Round 2.
The loss at UFC Fight Night 228 event marks a two-fight losing streak for Fiziev. Before Gamrot, Fiziev was defeated at UFC 286 event against Justin Gaethje by a majority decision. Fiziev UFC record stand for 6-3-0.
