A fight between Vicente Luque and Ian Machado Garry is set to take place at UFC 296 event scheduled for December.
Dana White officially announced on his Instagram account that Luque and Garry are set to clash in a welterweight bout at the UFC’s December 16 event.
Vicente Luque’s most recent bout took place at UFC Vegas 78 event, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Rafael dos Anjos. This triumph effectively put an end to his two-fight losing streak.
Ian Machado Garry is presently enjoying a remarkable 17-fight winning streak, with six of those wins coming within the UFC. His most recent contest occurred at UFC 292, where he faced off against Neil Magny. Prior to the Magny fight, Garry emerged victorious against Daniel Rodriguez at the UFC on ABC 4 event.
Ian Garry was actually targeting a fight against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. But, Thomson is fighting Shavkat Rakhmonov at the same event now.
UFC 296 event is scheduled for December 16, 2023, and will be broadcast live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. A lightweight bout is also set for the event where Tony Ferguson will face Paddy Pimblett. Two title fights will headline and co-headline the event.
