Noche UFC Changes: Lucindo faces Debutant Josefine Knutsson, Reed faces Godinez

Iasmin Lucindo vs Josefine Knutsson

UFC has rearranged a couple of strawweight bouts on Noche UFC event with Josefine Knutsson coming to make her debut.

Knutsson will be facing Iasmin Lucindo who was previously set to face Elise Reed. Reed will instead face Lupita Godinez now. Godinez was earlier scheduled to face Sam Hughes, who has now pulled out of the event with unknown reasons.

The changes were revealed during the broadcast of Dana White’s Contender 2023 Series event on August 29. Noche UFC is set to air on September 16, 2023, live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Knutsson was part of August 22 episode of DWCS where she got a unanimous decision win over Isis Verbeek. However, she was not part of the fighters awarded a UFC contract on that night. She did not have wait much her UFC journey to start. Sweden’s Knutsson is unbeaten in 6 MMA bouts so far.

Iasmin Lucindo originally replaced Cynthia Calvillo to face Elise Reed. She gets a different opponent with just 2 and a half week to go into the event. Lucindo is on a 2-fights winning streak after losing on her UFC debut. She defeated Polyana Viana at UFC Vegas 78 earlier this year.

Elise Reed will be fighting for the third time this year after a loss to Loma Lookboonmee and a win over Jinh Yu Frey at UFC Vegas 74. Lupita Godinez will also fight for the third time in 2023, but she has two wins over Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 287 and Emily Ducote at UFC Vegas 73.
