A new women’s bantamweight bout is reportedly set for UFC 296 PPV event where Irene Aldana will face Karol Rosa.
The report comes from ESPN Deportes’ Carlos Legaspi who reported that ranked women’s bantamweight fighters Aldana and Rosa are set to clash UFC’s last PPV event this year on December 16.
Aldana is ranked at #5 in UFC Rankings from women’s bantamweight division while Rosa is at #9.
Irene Aldana has a recent record of three wins and two losses in her last five bouts. Her most recent fight occurred at UFC 289 event, where she was defeated by Amanda Nunes via unanimous decision in the main event women’s bantamweight title bout. Aldana replaced UFC record currently stands at 7 wins and 5 losses.
Karol Rosa has a recent record of three wins and two losses in her last five fights. Her most recent bout took place at the UFC Vegas 76 event against Yana Santos, where she secured a victory via split decision. Prior to that, Rosa faced a defeat against Norma Dumont.
UFC 296 event is scheduled for December 16, 2023, and will be broadcast live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. A flyweight bout is also set for the event where Tagir Ulanbekov will face Cody Durden. The event will see Leon Edwards facing Colby Covington in the headliner bout.
