Cynthia Calvillo vs Elise Reed is set for the UFC’s Mexican Independence Day Fight Night event.
The report comes from Carlos Contreas of ESPN Deportes that Calvillo and Reed will clash in a strawweight bout on September 16 at UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas, NV.

Cynthia Calvillo is currently facing a rough period in her career, having suffered five consecutive losses in her recent fights. Calvillo’s recent fight was against Lupita Godinez at UFC 287 event, where she lost by split decision. Calvillo’s last win came on June 13, 2020, when she defeated Jessica Eye by Unanimous decision.
Due to her consecutive losses, UFC reportedly released her from the promotion, but she is still listed as an active fighter on the promotion’s official roster. This report also confirms that Calvillo is still with the promotion.
