EVENT NOTES

Early in June 2023, UFC applied for a license for an event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The venue generally holds WWE PPV events but this was reported to be a Fight Night event. UFC President Dana White officially announced that UFC would be holding this event in Las Vegas on account of Mexican Independence Day.

A rematch for UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship was announced as the headliner between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko. Mexico’s Grasso won the title from Shevchenko at UFC 285.

Shavkat Rakhmonov vs Kelvin Gastelum welterweight bout was announced as the co-main event. Gastelum pulled out due to a facila fracture, leading to Rakhmonov also being pulled out of the event. Later, Kevin Holland vs Jack Della Maddalena bout was announced as the co-main event.

Cynthia Calvillo vs Elise Reed strawweight bout was announced for the show. Calvillo pulled out of the bout with unknown reasons, and Iasmi Lucindo came in to replace her. After this, a confirmed strawweight bout between Lupita Godinez and Sam Hughes was canceled due to injury to Hughes. Elise Reed was then shifted to face Godinez. Iasmin Lucindo was then booked to face debutant Josefin Knutsson. Lucindo also pulled out of the bout with unknown issues. Another debutant Marnic Mann was brought in to face Knutsson and their bout was turned into a 120 lbs catchweight bout.

Daniel Rodriguez vs Santiago Ponzinibbio bout was announced for the event. Rodriguez was removed from the card after failing a drug test. Ponzinibbio also announced that he would not compete at the event.
