Mexico’s Édgar Chairez has got his second UFC fight quickly as he is set to face Daniel Lacerda Da Silva.

According to a report from Carlos Contreas of ESPN Deportes, Lacerda and Chairez will clash in a flyweight bout on September 16 at UFC’s Mexican Independence Day Fight Night event.

Édgar Chairez was set to feature in Dana White Contender Series next month, but was brought in as a late replacement to face Tatsuro Taira after Kleydson Rodrigues pulled out. However, Chairez was unsuccessful in UFC debut and lost the match by unanimous decision.

Daniel Lacedra is currently on a streak of four consecutive losses under UFC and is yet to get his first win in the promotion. Silva’s recent fight was against CJ Vergara at UFC Fight Night, where he lost the match by KO. If he fails to win, he would surely be be on the list of fighters that UFC would cut in the future.

UFC is set to hold a Fight Night event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, on the Mexican Independence Day event on September 16. Mexico’s Alexa Grasso will face Valentina Shevchenko to defend UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship. Shavkat Rakhmnov vs Kelvin Gastelum welterweight bout is announced as the co-main event.
