Tyson Fury-Francis Ngannou Superfight Offical for October 28

Tyron Fury vs Francis Ngannou

Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou’s long-rumored super fight now has a date and location.

WBC World Heavyweight Champion Fury and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou will clash in a boxing match on October 28, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The report comes from ESPN’s Mike Coppinger.

Official announcement also came in shortly afterward. It will be a PPV event bout in US and UK with ESPN+ and TNT Sports Box Office respectively. The fight will be under boxing rules with 3 judges present to ringside adopting the 10-point must system.

Francis Ngannou became a free agent in January this year after his deal with UFC lapsed after a long dispute. He signed a deal with PFL for future MMA bouts, but the deal also allowed him to take boxing bouts in between.

Fury and Ngannou teased a fight for the first time in April 2022 after Fury knocked out Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium. Fury had been posting about a big announcement coming, and it turns out that it was a fight against Ngannou that Fury was teasing once again.

Tyson Fury has been holding onto WBC Heavyweight title since February 2020, which he won by beating Deontay Wilder. He has since defended the title successfully against Wilder, Dillian Whyte, and Derek Chisora.

Francis Ngannou won the UFC Heavyweight title in March 2021 by beating Stipe Miocic at UFC 260. He unified the UFC Heavyweight title by beating Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 in January 2022, which turned out to be his last UFC Fight.

The fight is expected to be part of the Riyadh Festival that takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in October and November every year.
