UFC Vegas 69: Bill Goff Out, AJ Fletcher Faces Themba Gorimbo
AJ Fletcher will search for his first UFC win as starts 2023 with a bout against Themba Gorimbo at UFC Vegas 69.
Fletcher will be replacing Billy Goff in a welterweight bout at the event as per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Netherland. The reason behind Goff’s withdrawal remains unknown for now.
The bout between Goff and South Africa’s Themba Gorimbo would have been a clash of debutant. Goff signed with UFC with a win in Dana White Contender Series this year. Gorimbo also signed with UFC earlier this year.
Gorimbo was earlier speculated to debut this month before the bout against Goff was finalized for February.
AJ Fletcher arrived in UFC with an undefeated record in nine bouts. However, he suffered back-to-back losses in his first two bouts in the promotion. He lost to Matt Semelsberger in his UFC debut in March before another decision loss to Ange Loosa at UFC 278.
UFC Vegas 69 takes place on February 18, 2023 and will feature a top bantamweight clash between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen.
