Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III are scheduled for a rematch during the Super Bowl weekend in 2024.
The announcement came through Mayweather’s Instagram account where he announced that he is set for a rematch against John Gotti III, following their June 2023 encounter that descended into chaos after six rounds of excessive holding and verbal exchanges.
The referee intervened, stopping the fight, which resulted in multiple altercations breaking out both inside the ring and within the venue. Gotti III faced a temporary suspension due to his involvement in instigating those conflicts.
Floyd Mayweather hasn’t suffered a loss throughout his career. His most recent victory was on November 11, 2022, when he defeated Oladeji Olatunji in an exhibition bout.
John Gotti III has engaged in two boxing matches recently. His latest fight occurred at the Winter Brawl event, where he emerged victorious against Alex Citrowske. Prior to facing Citrowske, Gotti III secured a win against Albert Tulley at the Rockin Fights 43 event. Notably, Gotti III is the grandson of the notorious New York mob boss, John Gotti.
