CM Punk will be appearing on the event, which will also be his first SmackDown appearance in a decade. Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series and made his first appearance on RAW just two days later. WWE will try to cash in on his momentum for some TV ratings as he now appears on Tribute to the Troops.

Apart from this, a marquee singles match is also announced where Charlotte Flair will clash with Asuka. Flair is feuding with Damage CTRL faction, where Asuka is a key part. Both women were part of women’s War Games match at Survivor Series where Flair, as part of Team Bianca, came out victorious. This will be their first singles match since their no-disqualification draw on SmackDown in August this year.

WWE has also added a tag team match to the card where Randy Orton and LA Knight will team up to take on Jimmy Uso and The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa. Orton returned to SmackDown last week and immediately made it clear that he would go after The Bloodline as they put him on the shelf for 1 and a half years. Knight has also vowed to take down each member of the Bloodline one at a time.

Two matches of United States #1 Contender tournament will also take place on the show. The winner of this knockout-style tournament will go on to challenge Logan Paul at a future date.

In the first round matches at Tribute to the Troops, Bobby Lashley will take on Karrion Kross. This will be Kross’s first TV match since August, when AJ Styles defeated him. Santos Escobar and Dragon Lee will clash in the other match of the tournament, which will be a rematch from Survivor Series where Escobar beat Lee.
