Dragon Lee vs Austin Theory October 6 SmackDown

Welcome to ITNWWE’s live coverage blog for WWE SmackDown episode of October 6, 2023, which is live from St. Louis, MO.

The show will feature Dragon Lee’s SmackDown episode as he faces Austin Theory in a singles match. John Cena and LA Knight will be following up on singing to fight The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso at Fastlane.

Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest will make an appearance on the brand before their tag team title defense. Their opponents Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso are also going to be on the show. What will the women’s division bring us this week? Tune in below as we cover everything from Fastlane 2023 go-home Smackdown episode.


Knight ain’t Got Receipt

LA Knight comes out to open the show. He takes the mic, but before he could talk, Paul Heyman cuts him off. Heyman comes out with Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. He gives compliments to Knight and claims that he can spot a megastar from miles away. Heyman says he Knight has earned his respect but has not done the same with Jimmy and Solo. Knight says he has not bought any of Heyman’s bullshit.

Jimmy does not like Knight tone of disrespect and tells him to shut up or else he won’t be making it to Fastlane. Jimmy and Solo get up on the apron. John Cena’s music hits and he runs out ot the ring to even the numbers game. Heyman tells Jimmy and Solo to stand down as they do not have permission from The Tribal Cheif. They retreat after some reluctance. Knight takes the mic and challenges Jimmy to face him in a singles match tonight. Jimmy agreed.


We see Judgment Day in the parking lot with JD McDonagh. Priest snaps at McDonagh’s presence with the group as usual. Rhea Ripley says she has brought McDonagh in for a reason.

Charlotte Flair & Asuka vs Damage CTRL(Bayley & Iyo Sky)

Iyo starts against Flair with ducking a boot and getting a two-count with sunset flip. Flair overpowers her to slam her to the mat. Asuka comes in and hits several chops. Asuka gets a two-count with a sunset flip. Iyo returns the favor with a two-count before putting on a headlock. Asuka counters and sends Iyo to the corner. Asuka goes for a dropkick in the corner but Bayley gets her body in the line. Asuka then hits a double missile dropkick to drop both Iyo and Bayley to the floor. We cut to a break.

Asuka is trying to fight back against Bayley. Bayley hits a suplex to get a two-count. Iyo kicks at Asuka’s face as she comes in and puts on an arm stretch. Asuka gets a two-count with a counter. Iyo puts on bodyscissors. Asuka gets to the ropes. Bayley tags in and Asuka starts to fight back with body shots. Bayley slams her into the corner. Bayley decks Flair off the apron to block the tag. Iyo and Bayley hit a double body drop. Flair breaks the pin in anger.

Asuka hits elbow shots as she starts to fight back. Asuka hits a big boot. Iyo hits an uppercut. Asuka hits a leg lariat. Hot tags to Flair and Bayley. Bayley hits a big boot as she comes in before several chops on Bayley. Iyo comes in and Flair hits her with a suplex. Bayley cuts off Flair’s handspring. Flair hits a handspring clothesline on Bayley to get a two-count. Flair hits a boot after Asuka tags in. Tag back to Flair, and Asuka and Flair get in position for a double superplex. Iyo completes the Tower of Doom sequence.

All 4 women are down in the ring. Flair hits a big boot. Iyo hits her with Meteora. Flair hits them with a boot. Asuka holds Bayley on the ropes but catches Flair’s boot as Bayley ducks. Bayley goes for a figure four to mock Flair. Flair sends Bayley into Iyo to knock her off. Bayley hits Natural Selection on Bayley to get the pinfall.

Winners – Charlotte Flair & Asuka

Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa get into the Bloodline Locker Room. Judgment Day are there already. Jimmy says they are in wrong place. They reply they are exactly where they are supposed to be.

The Bloodline and Judgment Day are staring down in the locker room. Rhea Ripley orders everyone from both sides to leave as she has something to talk to Heyman. Jimmy tells her that they got to call Romam Reigns before doing anything Heyman asks Jimmy to leave. Everyone leaves the room other than Rhea and Heyman.

Rey Mysterio vs Bobby Lashley

Lashley corners Rey who stares him down. They lock up as Lashley gets back into the middle only to push Rey into the corner easily. Lashley hits a shoulder tackle to drop Rey. He follows up with some shoulder blocks. Lashley hits a big tackle in the middle. Rey starts to fight back and hits a springboard crossbody. Rey sends him to the floor and fients a 619. Lashley stares him down from the floor as we cut to a break.

Lashley has sent Rey into the ring post during the break. Lashley has Rey in a bear hug in the ring. He slams Rey into the corner before putting on the bear hug again. Lashley hits another hard whip and puts on the bear hug. LWO members cheer Rey from outside. Rey slips out and hits some tackles and an enzuigiri. Rey gets to the top rope but Lashley brings him down with a shot. Rey is put in a Tree of Woe position. Rey avoids the spear and Lashley crashes to the corner.

Rey hits a crossbody before some low dropkicks to the knee. Lashley goes for a slam but Rey counters with a DDT to get a close two-count. Rey hits countdown punches in the corner. Lashley goes for a suplex but Rey hits him with knees to break free. Rey sets up 619 but Lashley catches him. Rey goes for a springboard move but Lashley decks him off the ropes and down to the floor. LWO members cheer him on. Lashley sends Rey into the barricade. Lashley also throws Santos Escobar into the barricade. Rey goes for a suicide dive, gets caught, slips out and sends Lashley into the ring post.

Rey hits a 619 on Lashley’s midsection. He hits another 619. Rey gets to the top rope but The Street Profits get to the apron. Del Toro and Wilde engage with The Profits and are easily dropped on the floor. Rey hits the Profits with a dropkick. He gets back to the ring, only to be hit with a spear from Lashley for the pinfall.

Winner – Bobby Lashley

Escobar tries to attack Lashley with a steel chair but Lashley slips away quickly. Escobar and Vega check on the fallen members of LWO.


Rhea tells Heyman backstage to be a wiseman and decide on her proposal. Heyman says it is very good and he is upset that he himself did not think of it. Heyman says he just needs to get authorized. Rhea stops her from calling and says it’s already authorized. Heyman says it is authorized for Judgment Day, but Roman Reigns needs to authorize The Bloodline. Rhea tells Heyman, “Acknowledge Me.” Heyman warns that Rhea is in wrong locker room to say it. Rhea says Heyman will have acknowledge her just like Jey Uso does, otherwise Judgment Day will be against them. She tells Heyman to get his authorization.


After the break, we get another vignette from Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.

Dragon Lee vs Austin Theory

Before the match starts, Theory takes the mic and says he is a good guy as he let The Rock share the ring with him. He tries to take credit of 150 million social views for that segment. He then claims that Lee’s career will be over in 150 seconds. The bell rings to start the match.

Theory pushes Lee to the corner. Lee comes back with shots before a hurricanrana. Lee hits a dropkick in the corner to get a two-count. Grayson Waller’s music hits and he comes out. Theory takes advantage of distraction to run down Lee from behind. Lee hits back with a dropkick to get a two-count. He hits a snap dragon suplex next. Lee looks to run the ropes but Waller is there on the apron. Theory runs over Lee from behind. We cut to a break.

Lee nails a superkick as we return. He hits Polish hammers before a kick to the face against the turnbuckle. He hits a dropkick in the corner to get a two-count. Theory hits back with a couple of quick kicks before dropping Lee with a brainbuster on his knees. Theory hits punches before Lee counters with Tiger Driver to get a two-count. Waller runs a distraction again to allow Theory to trip Lee on the top rope. Theory hits a side slam to get a near fall.

Theory sets up Lee on the top rope but Lee trips Theory this time around and hits a double stomp. Lee hits a suicide dive on the floor on both Waller and Theory. Lee throws Theory back into the ring but Waller slams his face into the apron from behind. Cameron Grimes comes out and slams Waller into the ring post. Lee counters Theory with a sunset flip in the ring to get the pinfall.

Winner – Dragon Lee

Lee and Grimes celebrate the win for Lee.


Rhea Ripley and Jimmy Uso are discussing something backstage which is inaudible to the cameras.


Rey Mysterio comes out of the medical room and tells Santos Escobar and Zelina Vega that Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde will not be able to make it to Fastlane tomorrow. He got to make a phone call to find a partner for Fastlane.


We get the hype video package for Last Man Standing match between Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura.


Announced for SmackDown next week – Roman Reigns returns, Pretty Deadly vs The Brawling Brutes, and Triple H to make an appearance.

Jimmy Uso vs LA Knight

Jimmy pushes Knight to the corner. Knight puts him in a headlock. He hits a shoulder tackle. Jimmy comes back with a tackle himself. Knight sends him into the corner. Knight hits a powerslam to get a two-count. A kick from Jimmy. He avoids BFT and moves to the floor. Knight hits a dropkick through the ropes as Jimmy rolls to the floor. Knight scares Heyman away. Jimmy hits a superkick on Knight to take us to a break.

Knight rallies as we return from break. Clotheslines and quick tackles. Solo Sikoa attacks Knight to cause a disqualification.

Winner – LA Knight

Before Solo can attack Knight, John Cena’s music hits and he runs out to stand with Knight. Heyman instructs Solo and Jimmy to get out of the ring. Judgment Day come out and join the Bloodline. They are about to attack Cena and Knight, but Jey Uso’s music hits and he comes out. Cody Rhodes’ music also hits as he comes out as well to join Cena, Knight and Jey.

A brawl starts and the babyfaces clear the ring easily. Knight hits a suicide dive on the floor. Jey hits a suicide dive. Solo drops Cena from behind in the ring. Knight drops Solo with BFT. JD McDonagh attacks Knight but gets overwhelmed as Cody and Jey also come in. Cena hits a JD with 5-knuckle shuffle and AA. Cody hits him with Crossrhodes. The babyfaces stand tall to close the show.
