WWE RAW January 31, 2022: Results, Card, Preview, Tickets

WWE RAW episode of January 31, 2022, will be the fallout episode from the Royal Rumble event. This will also be the first RAW show on the Road to WrestleMania 38 as WWE would look to build up towards Elimination Chamber 2022.

Brock Lesnar will probably announce his opponent for WrestleMania while same is expected from Ronda Rousey also. A Scooter Race segment is announced between Rk-Bro and RAW Tag Team Champions Alpha Academy, while Lashley will start the Almighty Era. Two Elimination Chamber qualifying matches are also set for the show.

Did Lashley Beat Lesnar?

The show starts with a replay from Royal Rumble. Adam Pearce is in the ring and officially welcomes us on the Road to WrestleMania. Pearce then announces that Lashley will defend the WWE title in an Elimination Chamber match and that qualifying matches will take place tonight. Lashley makes his entrance with MVP. MVP says this is not how this works.. Lashley has already pinned Lesnar and it is not fair for him to defend the title in Elimination Chamber match.

Lashley asks Pearce who does he think he is. Lashley says he was here to celebrate his title win. He always knew he was a better amateur wrestler, better MMA fighter and a better WWE Champion. Lashley asks the fans who is the conqueror now and who is the champion now. Its Bobby who! Brock Lesnar’s music hits and he comes out in his ring gear, ready to fight. Lashley is smiling, almost laughing. He circles the ring before entering.

Lesnar asks Lashley whether he thinks he really beat him. He is not mad at Lashley though to take advantage, but is mad at Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. Lesnar says he took things in his hands and won the Royal Rumble. And once Brock Lesnar has won the Royal Rumble and now he gets to choose whom to face. And Lashley does not have to worry as Lesnar choose to fight Roman Reigns.

Lesnar adds that the match against Roman Reigns will be a title vs title match. And that is where Lashley comes in. Lesnar challenges Lashley for a title match right on the spot. Lashley gets angry and starts to remove his coat. But MVP holds him back and talks him out of it. Lesnar starts throwing explicts at Lashley as MVP calms him down and takes him to the back. Adam Pearce announces that Lashley will defend the title at Elimination Chamber. Lesnar says he wants to get into the match. Pearce agrees and announces that Lesnar will be one of the challengers.

Rhea Ripley vs Nikki ASH

We see how Nikki ASH beat up Mighty Molly during the women’s Royal Rumble match. The bell ring and Rhea tackles Nikki as she charges at her. Rhea throws her around from a gutwrench position. Rhea hits a delayed vertical suplex next. Nikki slips to the floor. She gets back when Rhea tries to catch her on the floor. Nikki traps Rhea in the apron cloth and unloads on her. We cut to a break.

Nikki is in control as we return. She kicks at Rhea in the corner with kicks and forearm strikes. Rhea counters a tornado DDT and hits short-arm clotheslines. Rhea hits a headbutt, snapmare takedown and a dropkick. She misses in the corner before hitting a Northern Light suplex. Rhea puts Nikki on the top.

Nikki punches her back and hits a Tornado DDT for a two-count. Nikki misses a crossbody. She quickly gets in position for a neckbreaker but Rhea hits Riptide for the pin.

Winner – Rhea Ripley

We see the replay of round 1 of academic challenge where RK-Bro defeated Alpha Academy in the spelling bee. Gable and Riddle are backstage on their scooters for the race. Kevin Patrick is there with them. He asks Riddle for the rules of this race. Riddle has a paper but it has just Gustavo written on it. Gable then tells Patrick to announce the rules they discuss. Patrick says first man to complete 50 laps of the arena will win the race. R-Truth is the special guest to start the race. He waves the flag to start 50 lap scooter race.

Alexa Bliss is in the psychiatrist’s office. Bliss talks about how the doctor took Lilly’s name a few weeks back and says Lilly was always there for her whenever she was down or got bullied. The doctor asks her how will she feel if Lilly returns to her. She replies that she will hug her and play with her. The doctor shows her a replica doll and says this should not mean anything to her. Alexa looks at the doll and sighs, saying her name.

The Miz vs Dominik Mysterio

They lock up and come to a clean break after Miz pushes Dominik to the corner. Dominik ducks a swing and punches Miz. Dominik then drops Miz to the ropes but misses 619. Miz slips to the floor and drops Dominik’s neck on the ropes. He pushes Rey Mysterio on the floor. Miz drops Dominik in the ring. He then fakes a trip and blames Rey for it. The referee boots Rey from the ringside. Dominik gets distracted and Miz hits him with the Skull Crushing Finale to get the pin.

Winner – The Miz

Backstage, WWE 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke fends off Tamina as she attacks her. Riddle and Gable are racing around the arena.

Riddle encounters Omos halfway through the race and tells him that he has beautiful eyes. Gable breezes past him.

KO Show with Seth Rollins

Kevin Owens is in the ring for the KO show. He hypes us about the most stupendous WrestleMania. He announces that he will be in the Elimination Chamber match as soon as he beats the sheltered Austin Theory. But, that is for later. He brings out Seth Rollins as his guest. Rollins makes his entrance. KO asks him if he wants to sit. Rollins says he is not 100% and they better sit. KO takes us to the replay of Roman vs Rollins match at Royal Rumble.

Rollins is upset at watching the replay of disqualification and chair shots from Roman. KO says Roman got DQ’ed willingly because he knew he could not beat Rollins, and that Rollins is the Universal Champion in his heart. Rollins says he has acquired permanent real estate in Roman’s mind. But that is SmackDown’s business, and this is RAW. He brings up Lashley defends the title inside Elimination Chamber, and he has an announcement on the matter.

Rollins gets the drum roll and announces is that he will be in that match. KO gets hyped, but he questions that he does not have to qualify like him. KO says he is very happy regardless. KO says if Rollins would go to Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce backstage right now and tell them that if they do not put KO directly in Chamber match, he will walk out of the match. Rollins is apprehensive about it. KO says he would have done the same for Rollins also. Austin Theory comes out to interrupt them. We cut to a break.

Kevin Owens vs Austin Theory – WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

Owens starts with big chops on Theory. He puts on a side headlock and a tackle. Theory runs into a back elbow and gets hit with a senton. Owens whips him from corner to corner. Theory fights back with kicks to the midsection. He drops KO’s neck on the ropes. A rolling dropkick gets him a two-count. Owens comes back with a chop. A bit of back and forth.

Theory drops to the floor and tries to lure Owens into an attack. KO sends him into a barricade and hits him with a cannonball. Theory slips out of the ring once again and hits KO with a superkick when he follows. Theory slams his head into the steel steps to take us to a break.

Owens is fighting back as we return. He hits an enziguiri and a DDT for a two-count. Theory nails a forearm as Owens goes to the top. Owens hits a headbutt on the top, but misses a senton. Theory hits a blockbuster to get a two-count. He goes for the ATL but Owens slips out fires back with a forearm. Theory hits a brainbuster for another two-count. Theory gets a bit frustrated. KO hits a pumphandle suplex for a two-count of his own. Theory avoids the stunner but KO hits a superkick and a top rope senton to get a near fall.

They fight on the top rope and KO hits fisherman superplex. KO covers him but Theory puts his leg on the ropes to break the pin. Owens slams Theory’s face into the apron. Theory avoids a powerbomb by hanging on the ropes and gets into the ring. He catches Owens on the ropes with a knee. Theory hits ATL to get the pin.

Theory takes a selfie outside the ring as he celebrates his win.

Riddle runs into the Street Profits backstage. Gable also runs into them later. Otis appears drinking sodium from the cups. A camera is setup on the finish line in case there is a photo finish.

Dolph Ziggler vs Angelo Dawkins

Ziggler hits a dropkick right out of the gate for a two-count. He slams Dawkins’ face into the mat and slams him into the corner for another two-count. Ziggler with big blows to the back of his head. Ziggler puts on a chinlock. Dawkins gets to his feet but is slammed to the corner. Ziggler hits a corner splash. Dawkins hits a big punch to cut off Ziggler’s charge.

Dawkins hits a clothesline and a spinning back elbow. He hits a running tackle, corner splash and a bulldog for a two-count. Ziggler rolls him up for a two-count. Ziggler counters a spinebuster into a DDT for a two-count. Ziggler charges but Dawkins counters with a backslide attempt. Dawkins hits double underhook swinging neckbreaker for the pin and the win.

Winner – Angelo Dawkins

Riddle and Gable are in lap 49 of 50 and are beating each other with other props as they are head to head.

Gable and Riddle are running down towards the finish line. Gable trips on the ramp and Riddle walks down towards the finish line. Otis hits him with a splash near the finish line. Gable then crosses the finish line to win the race. Riddle says it is cheating. Gable tells him that he should face Otis in the ring now.

Otis vs Riddle – WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

As the match was about to start, Adam Pearce comes out and announces that this will be Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Otis punches Riddle for a while. He hits a big tackle, a corner splash, and a hard whip to the other corner. Otis smashes big shots in the corner. Otis hits a backdrop slam and a standing splash. Otis puts a chin lock. Riddle tries to fight back but Otis hits him with a back elbow. He follows with a shoulder block in the corner.

Riddle fights back with a tackle from the apron. Otis hits another big tackle to take back control. Otis puts on a chin lock. Riddle gets to his feet but Otis hits a body slam and an elbow drop. Otis works on Riddle on the ropes. Riddle drops him on the ropes with a neckbreaker. Riddle hits forearm strikes but Otis drops him with a clothesline.

Riddle fights back off a backdrop and unloads with sidekicks. Otis hits a back body drop. He misses in the corner. Riddle hits running forearms. He ducks another clothesline and hits ripcord knee strikes. Riddle hits a floating bro on the knee. Riddle gets ready for RKO now. Otis avoids it but runs into a back elbow. Riddle hits a moonsault and bridges Otis for the pin.

Bianca Beliar vs Carmella

Mella wastes time in getting her facemask on. Bianca waits on her and mocks her for it. Bianca drops her to the mat as the bell rings. Bianca keeps her on the floor in a waist lock. Carmella hits a back elbow. Carmella runs around the ring and lures Bianca into an attack. Bianca comes back and hits tackles in the corner. Mella sends her face-first into the turnbuckle. Carmella unloads on her in the corner. Mella hits a back elbow and puts on the chinlock.

Bianca scoops her up but Carmella slams her to the mat. She puts on another chinlock. Bianca hits a backbreaker and a suplex. She shots a big punch and hits KOD to get the pin.

Winner – Bianca Belair

Bliss is in the psychiatrist’s office. She says she is very happy to see Lilly. The doctor tells her that this isn’t real Lilly but a replica from WWE Shop. He gives it to her to hug it.

WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Otis & Chad Gable are backstage with Kevin Patrick. Gable announces that next week, it will be a quiz bowl contest. And if RK-Bro lose the quiz, they will not get the tag title rematch.

AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio – WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

They shake hands before locking up. They come to a clean break. Rey gets one count with a sunset flip. AJ pushes him to get one count himself. AJ hits a shoulder tackle. Rey hits a hurricanrana. AJ puts Rey on the top. Rey hits a headbutt and hits a hurricanrana. AJ hits a backbreaker. He throws Rey to the floor but Rey lands on his feet. Rey trips AJ from the apron and hits a baseball slide. Rey counters AJ to hit a DDT to take us to the break.

AJ has Rey in a chinlock as we return. Rey fights back and hits a DDT. Both men are down now. Rey hits another hurricanrana and a springboard crossbody for a two-count. Rey hits kicks to AJ’s knee. AJ fires back with forearm strikes and a backbreaker. Rey counters with a sunset flip to drop AJ on the ropes. Rey misses 619. AJ misses the Phenomenal Forearm. Rey manages to drop AJ with a drop toe hold.

Rey goes to hit a hurricanrana on the top rope. AJ counters and attempts Styles Clash from the top rope. Rey avoids it and drops him on the ropes for 619. Rey misses the final splash but manages a two-count with a crucifix. AJ hits a Pele kick. More back and forth until AJ hits the Styles Clash for the pin and the win.

Ronda’s Choice for WrestleMania

Ronda Rousey heads to the ring to a good reception from the crowd. She takes the mic and says she has been thinking since Saturday which title would she want to take at WrestleMania. She has history with both women. But she has no responsibility of Becky’s stagnating title reign. She could face Charlotte just to prove that even as a contender, not even as champion, Becky will be on her undercard. And then Flair and Becky both will know that there is no baddest bitch than her.

Becky comes out and says it is good to see her back. Becky says it is not good for Ronda to say that she is on her undercard when she is the first one to beat her in WWE. Becky says she would not mind if Ronda would like some appetizer at her first WrestleMania back and go for Flair. Becky says Ronda should tell them quick because RAW Women’s division is as hot as ever due to her.

Ronda takes Becky down with a judo throw and holds onto her arm. Ronda takes the mic and says she will announce her decision on Friday. Ronda leaves to the back.

Becky takes the mic and shouts at Ronda. Lita comes out to the ring and gives Becky some props. She challenges Becky for a match at Elimination Chamber. Becky says no. Lita says she can understand defending this title can be a lot of work and understand Becky says no. Becky gets agitated and says she accepts the challenge. The show goes off the air with Lita’s music.
