WWE NXT episode of September 21, 2021, the second episode of NXT 2.0, will feature a cruiserweight title match between Kushida and Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong. No other match is announced for now but we can expect the new stars like Bron Breakker and others to continue to feature heavily. Tommaso Ciampa’s NXT Championship reign will also start with this episode.

Kushida vs Roderick Strong: This is a match about a month in waiting. Roderick Strong returned to WWE NXT after a gap of few months with Diamond Mine. And his first act after coming back to NXT was to attack Kushida and Kyle O’Reilly. The Cruiserweight title match was announced between them for last month. But Kushida caught COVID-19 and WWE declared that he was unavailable. Kushida returned to WWE just last week and challenged Strong to meet him in the ring.
Tommaso Ciampa’s Reunites with Goldie: Tommaso Ciampa won the NXT Championship back to reunite the Goldie for the second time. How will he deal with anyone who tries to come in between them?
Results & Updates
Tommaso Ciampa comes out and addresses the new NXT and how excited he is for the future of brand and his second title reign. Cameron Grimes comes out and wants a title shot. LA Knight also wants the same, but he is reminded by Odyssey Jones that he lost twice last week. Pete Dunne & Ridge Holland come out next. Dunne said others are afraid to throw the first punch.
A brawl breaks out in the ring as Ciampa and Grimes attack Dunne & Holland. Other NXT stars join the brawl. Bron Breakker and Ciampa are the two left standing when the things settle. Bron challenges Dunne & Holland for a match later tonight.
Kay Lee Ray was arguing with Amari Miller while B-Fab Arianna Brandy argues with Elektra Lopez at backstage.
Roderick Strong defeated Kushida to become the new NXT Cruiserweight Champion. Creed Brothers attacked Kushida in the final minutes of the match as Bivens ran a distraction for the referee. Strong hit his backbreaker finisher to get the pin.
Diamond Mine celebrates the title win after the match. Grayson Waller comes out and says he does not want to wait much and challenges Strong for the title match next week. Bivens talks with Strong and they agree for the title match next week.
Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs cut a pre-recorded promo where they talk how they bonded in a bar fight.
Kay Lee Rae defeated Amari Miller in a short match by hitting Gory bomb finisher.
Bron Breakker is interviewed backstage and he is excited to be in the same ring as three of the best from NXT.
Xyon Quinn walks into the arena with two other women. Some guy cut them off and enter the door before them. Quinn and company attack him and lay him out.
Dante Chen defeated Tray Baxter in a short match with a bridging wing clipper.
We get the first lecture from Andre Chase University where he dissects how Odyssey Jones lost the final of Breakout tournament against Carmelo Hayes due to a bad cover. Some student points out that Hayes defeated Chase in the tournament. Chase snaps at him and kicks him out of the class.
Kyle O’Reilly is announced to have injured his ribs last week after attack from Pete Dunne & Ridge Holland.
Joe Gacy cut a promo in the ring where he said his mission is to achieve peace in a safe space.
Cameron Grimes defeated Joe Gacy with his face-in finisher in another short match. Post-match, Gacy hugs Grimes.
Von Wagner gets a video where he talked about failing to win NXT title last week but also adds that his NXT journey has just begun.
Elektra Lopez(/ Legado Del Fantasma) defeated Anna Scheer via pinfall after a sitdown powerbomb.
A brawl breaks out between Hit Row and Legado Del Fantasma. Hit Row stands tall at last.
Raquel Gonzalez vs Franky Money is next week now. Money tells Gonzalez that she will beat her next week. Lash Legends’ talk show will also debut next week.
Odyssey Jones defeated Cary Millman and Darren Chiapetta in a handicapped match.
Toxic Attraction – Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jane -cut a promo in the ring where Rose talks about guiding Gigi and Jacy.
Io Shirai & Zoey Stark accepted the challenge from Gigi & Jacy and will defend the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship against them.
Bron Breakker & Tommaso Ciampa defeated Ridge Holland & Pete Dunne. Breakker finished the match with a slam on Holland for the pin.
