Welcome to the live results blog for WWE NXT April 4, 2023 episode which was live once again from WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL.

3 matches were announced for the show. Dragon Lee made his NXT TV debut as he faced Nathan Frazer. Dijak was set for a colossal clash with Odessey Jones while Pretty Deadly took on Tony D’Angelo and Stacks in a tag team match.

The show dealt with the fallout from NXT Stand & Deliver event where we saw 3 titles changing hands while 2 champions retained their titles. We have a new NXT Champion in Carmelo Hayes after he defeated Bron Breakker in the main event of the PLE at the weekend.

Indi Hartwell is the new NXT Women’s Champion. Given that Roxanne Perez was never pinned to lose her title, will she get a rematch anytime soon? Wes Lee retained North American Championship despite being challenged by 4 other men. Did he still continue his open challenges or was he finally content with proving himself?

How did Brooks Jensen not handing Kiana James her purse during their defeat at Stand & Deliver affect their relationship? How strong were Gallus Boys after the return of Joe Coffey? RESULTS

  • Pretty Deadly(Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) defeated Tony D’Angelo & Stacks in a tag team match via pinfall.
  • Dijak defeated Odessey Jones in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Dragon Lee defeated Nathan Frazer in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Indi Hartwell(c) defeated Zoey Stark in a singles match via pinfall to retain NXT Women’s Championship.

The show opens with a video package from Stand and Deliver event.

New NXT Women’s Champion

NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell comes out to the ring. NXT audience start “You Deserve It” chants. She goes on to talk about losing hope but fans being behind him and believing in him for a while. She mentions Roxanne Perez and says she deserves a title shot right away.

Zoey Starks interrupts her and says this is nonsense. She says Indi is holding the title that legends have held, but Indi is not at that level. She says Roxanne should be behind her at least in the pecking order for title shot. She adds that only thing good coming out of Stand & Deliver is that we have a beatable champion. She goes on to challenge Indi to face her tonight for the title. Indi agrees. Starks tells her that she has made a big mistake.


We get a social media clip of Axiom giving props to Wes Lee and asking for a singles match for North American Championship. Lee agreed to it.

Pretty Deadly(Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) vs Tony D’Angelo and Stacks

Stacks locks up with Prince to start the match. Prince talks Stacks into an attack from Wilson. Stacks tries to fight back but Wilson hits an inverted atomic drop. Stacks hits back with a dropkick and springboard tackle. Tony comes for tandem attack before some punches to ribs. Wilson hits a jawbreaker and tags in Prince. Tony his Prince with punches to midsection. Prince hits a low dropkick after avoiding a German suplex. Wilson tags in but Tony hits a low dropkick to trip him.

Wilson gets angry and demands some respect but Tony drops him with a punch. Prince comes in and the same thing repeats with Stacks. Tony and Stacks clothesline Pretty Deadly to the floor. Stacks hits a cannonball on Wilson in the corner. Prince tags in and Wilson runs a distraction to allow him to take control. Prince controls the match and he starts to work on Stacks’ arm.

Wilson tags in and Stacks rolls him over for a two-count. Tony gets a hot tag and hits German suplexes on both opponents. Prince tries to roll out of the ring but Tony hits a deadlift German suplex. Prince knocks Tony with a back elbow. Wilson and Prince switch places when the referee was checking on Tony. As the referee deals with Wilson, Prince sends Tony into the exposed turnbuckle and rolls him up for a pinfall.

Winner – Pretty Deadly

Jacy Jayne gets a pre-recorded promo where she mocks Gigi Dolin for thinking that she was gonna have a Hollywood moment. She says she will break Gigi’s will.

Dijak vs Odessey Jones

Dijak takes the first punch but Jones hits back with punches and a back splash in the corner. Dijak hits a big boot and unloads with punches. Jones whips Dijak hard into the corner and over the ropes. Jones hits running forearms to drop Dijak before hitting a spinebuster. Dijak goes for a crossbody but Jones catches him and slams him to the mat to get a two-count. Jones goes to the second rope. Dijak hits him with a superkick there. Dijak picks up Jones and hits a Death Valley Driver to get a two-count. Dijak goes to the top and hits a moonsault to get the pinfall.

Winner – Dijak

We see Carmelo Hayes making his way to the arena.


We cut to Gallus Boys who now also have Joe Coffey with them. Coffey says others should stop attempting to take them off the top. He is also looking for some gold now, but he will take some other fights first.

Dragon Lee vs Nathan Frazer

Before the match starts, Naom Dar comes through the crowd and puts his NXT UK Heritage cup on the announce table. He announces that he has joined NXT after months of negotiations and he will pick and chose who gets to challenge for Heritage Cup.

The match starts with quick counters on the mat. They lock up again and Frazer puts Lee’s shoulders to the mat. Lee hits a suplex to get a two-count. Frazer keeps control until Lee gets a side headlock on. Frazer breaks free and runs around dodging Lee. He hits a hurricanrana but Lee lands on his feet. Lee ducks a kick and they come to a halt as we cut to a break.

Frazer sends Lee’s face into turnbuckle and follows up with a flatliner from the top quickly to get a two-count. Frazer gets to the second rope. Lee tries to hit a German suplex from there. Frazer lands on his feet though and hits a dropkick. Lee hits back with a couple of dropkicks himself. Lee hits a brainbuster on the knees before a running kick to get a two-count.

Lee goes to the top. Frazer meets him at the top but Lee gets him in a Tower of Doom position to stomp on him. Lee goes for a move, only to run into a superkick. They trade counters and kicks until Lee hits a sitout powerbomb for a near fall. Lee hits a running knee to get the pinfall.

Winner – Dragon Lee

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn gets a vignette. They talk about their win at Stand & Delover and says there is always ashes left smoldering and a challenge hanging in the air. They are only beginning to crack the surface of just how perilous their team can be.


We get to a lesson in Chase U where Andre Chase says it felt good to stomp at Joe Gacy’s face. Chase gives special mention to Chase U Alumni Tyler Bate. Duke Hudson asks why he is not getting a special recognition as he was the one who outsmarted everyone. Chase says Duke said earlier that he does not believe in awards and recognitions. Duke replies that he is not talking about some trivial match. He helped win a match at the biggest event of the year. He goes on to give an inspirational speech. Chase gets hyped up and says he will give him an MVP trophy next week.


Wes Lee is interviewed backstage and says the fatal 5-way match at Stand and Deliver was excellent. He praises everyone in the match but says Axiom was the best of all. Lee says they will wake everyone up from their WrestleMania hangover.

Indi Hartwell(c) vs Zoey Stark – NXT Women’s Championship

Indi starts with body slams and short-arm clotheslines. Zoey comes back with a springboard crossbody and a superkick. Indi blocks her finisher before Zoey hits a low dropkick. Zoey stomps at the champ in the corner. Indi counters a half-and-half suplex and unloads in the corner. Zoey sends her into the turnbuckle before she hits quick whips to the corner and a clothesline.

Indi comes back with a big right. She swings and misses at the apron. Indi drops Zoey’s face on the ropes. Zoey pulls her into the ropes and trips her. Zoey hits some punches before she hits a dropkick to send Indi to the floor. We cut to a break.

Stark hits a clothesline as we return. She puts on a chinlock. Indi starts to get back up to his feet and drives Zoey to the corner. Zoey hits back with a kick. Indi blocks a suplex and hits some clotheslines and a side slam. Indi sends Zoey to the apron with a back body drop. Zoey lands on her feet and hits an enzuigiri. She misses a missile dropkick.

Indi sidesteps on the apron and hits a kick. Indi hits an elbow drop to get a close two-count. They trade punches before Zoey hits a roundhouse kick. Indi counters a springboard with a spinebuster to get a close two-count. Indi misses a boot and Zoey hits half-and-half suplex. Zoey hits Z-360 but Indi rolls to the floor. Zoey brings her back but Indi counters the pinfall attempt with a crucifix to get the pinfall.

Winner – Indi Hartwell

After the match, Tiffany Stratton comes out on the ramp to confront Indi. Cora Jade comes in from behind to attack and drop Indi. Cora goes on and have a face-off with Tiffany on the ramp.


Brooks Jensen is apologizing to Kiana James for not handing her the bag at Stand & Deliver. Fallon Henley comes in and asks James why is she lashing out at Jensen when she is the one who cheated. James says they never put a label on it earlier and things changed when she first kissed him, but now Jensen has broken her trust. James leaves. Jensen is upset. Josh Briggs and Henley try to console him but he walks out confused and upset.

Ivy Nile vs Fallon Henley

Nile slams Paxley’s face before hitting her with a suplex. Paxley takes her to the corner to hit a big punch. Nile hits back with punches and sidekicks. Nile is sent to the apron and Paxley pulls her with a suplex off the middle rope. Paxley hits a body slam next. Paxley slams Nile’s head into the mat before Nile counters with a submission attempt. Paxley hits a couple of elbow drops on Nile’s back. She puts on a chinlock. Nile gets up to her feet despite Paxley tightening her grip all the way. Paxley puts her to the mat again and grinds her down.

Nile powers up to her feet and hits a gutwrench suplex. Nile hits quick punches to the ribs before some knee strikes to midsection. Paxley tries to counter but Nile picks her up from the second rope and drops her to the mat. Nile hits quick shoulder tackles before a takedown and quick punches. Nile hits a dropkick to send Paxley to the floor. Nile throws Paxley back in after running kick to midsection. Paxley plays possum and catches Nile’s leg. She goes for a takedown but Nile counters with inverted front facelock to get a submission.

Winner – Ivy Nile

The Creed Brothers come out to the stage to celebrate with Nile.


Ilja Dragunov says he likes challenges and believes there is no challenge big enough to conquer. He knows it was easy to win the match at Stand & Deliver. He continues with his promo until Von Wagner interrupts him and says Dragunov is talking so much for someone who lost. Dragunov takes a shot at him and Wagner says how would he like to face him in the ring next week. Mr. Stone comes in and separates them. Stone asks why is Wagner picking up a fight with the mad dragon. Stone says Wagner will get him a match against Dragunov next week but if Wagner loses, Stone is done with him.

Wes Lee(c) vs Axiom – NXT North American Championship

They lock up and Lee gets a side headlock on. Axiom counters with a roll-up to get a close two-count. Lee gets headscissors on. Axiom counters with a submission maneuver. Lee counters before Axiom hits an armdrag and a roundhouse kick to get a two-count. Axiom ducks a spinning back heel kick from the mat. They run the ropes and hits a headscissors. Lee hits a dropkick and gets a two-count. Axiom goes for a monkey flip but has to resort to hurricanrana to send Lee to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Back to the ring, Axiom goes to the top. Lee knocks him to the floor with a big punch to take us to a break.

Axiom is in control with an ankle lock. Lee hits upkicks to break free. They start to trade punches and forearms now. They pick up the pace. Axiom hits a big forearm to break the sequence. Lee fires back with an uppercut and a flurry of strikes all over the body. Lee hits a German suplex. Lee hits a stomp and package piledriver to get a near fall. Lee goes for Kardiac Kick but Axiom counters by putting him in bodyscissors. Axiom changes to a sleeper choke when Lee breaks free of body lock.

Lee ducks a roundhouse kick before gets him in an inside cradle to get a two-count. Lee hits a superkick. Axiom gets his knees up on a tornillo splash from the top. Axiom hits a ripcord knee and gets ready for Golden Ratio. Lee ducks it and hits Kardiac kick to get the pinfall.

Winner – Wes Lee

Lee gets Axiom’s hands raised after the match. Scrypts takes over the sound system after Lee leaves the ring. He tries to catch Axiom from behind but Axiom nails him with a superkick.


Nathan Frazer is interviewed backstage. Frazer says even though he has not started this season on a winning note but he is confident that he can turn it around. His perspective has changed and his reality can also change soon.


Tank Ledger, Dani Palmer and Oba Femi are coming to NXT.

Carmelo Hayes Title Celebration

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams make their entrance. Williams takes the mic and says the champ is here. The crowd is firmly behind Hayes almost like a babyface. Hayes and Williams talk about Stand & Deliver and say that this is the Him era. They continue to have fun. Hayes says he wants to give Bron Breakker his flowers and says he is one of his toughest opponents. He says he respect Bron Breakker and calls him out so that he can tell him something.

Bron Breakker’s music hits and he makes his way out. Hayes says what Breakker did after the match was so good and he did not have to do that. Hayes thanks Breakker for it. “Thank You, Breakker” chants from the crowd. Breakker says there comes a time when a champion gets defeated by the next guys and he should pass that torch. Tomasso Ciampa taught him this and he did the same thing for Hayes. Breakker says NXT is all about the fans.

Breakker leaves the ring but Hayes calls him and they hug. Breakker raises Hayes’ hands but suddenly drops him with a clothesline. He hits Williams with a body slam and then hits a spear on Hayes amid all the boos. Breakker throws off his shirt. Breakker gets to the apron and the crowd starts to chant for a rematch between them.
