The story fo Seth Rollins overcoming the odds is completed once again as he defeated Brock Lesnar to win back the WWE Universal Championship title at SummerSlam 2019.
As Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar faced off at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Lesnar started the match strong with putting Rollins into the corner. However, Rollins shocked him with a superkick and quickly followed it with the stomp. But that was not enough as Lesnar kicked out after 2-count. Rollins then avoided entering the Suplex City as he managed to land on his feet a couple of time as Lesnar attempted the German Suplex.
But soon, Lesnar showed his monstoruous side as he hit him with 8 or 9 German Suplexes during the match. Lesnar continued to dominate the match until he went to setup the announce table. Rollins once again caught him with a surprise superkick and followed with a crossbody splash onto the announce table. He brought Lesnar back to the ring and hit with another crossbody and a stomp but once again, could only get a nearfall.
After back to back superkick from Rollins, Lesnar caught him and attempted the F5. Rollins showed his athletic ability once more and landed on his feet. He quickly went on to hit another superkick followed by the stomp to get the pin.
This is the third time when Rollins has won the title from Lesnar. First time was at WrestleMania 2015 when Rollins cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Then earlier this year, Rollins defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania once again to win the Universal title. The only defeat that Seth Rollins has got from the hands of Brock Lesnar came last month at Extreme Rules.
After multiple failed attempts to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase, Lesnar appeared at Extreme Rules after Rollins has pinned Baron Corbin in their mixed match tag team match. He cashed in the MITB briefcase and went on to defeat Rollins to win the Universal Championship. Rollins won a 10-man battle royal the following night to get a rematch with Lesnar.
