Sting Reveals Injury on AEW Dynamite in Post-Show Promo
Sting suffered an injury during his match at this week’s AEW Dynamite episode.
During June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin faced Sammy Guevara and “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho in the main event in a tornado tag team match. The match was full of brutality, utilizing chairs as a weapon and trashing each other on the tables.
The moment got crazy as the match approached its climax. Darby Allin set the ladder to execute a high fly move on Sammy Guevara who was set up on a couple of tables on the floor. However, the Icon Sting stopped Allin and decided to make the moment memorable by himself. He jumped from the ladder and put Guevara through the table. However, Sting’s mouth caught the corner of the second table and landed face-first.

Sting went on to fight and ended the match with his Scorpion Death Lock on Jericho to get a submission win.
After the Dynamite went off the air, Sting spoke to the fans and revealed that he suffered an injury on his mouth during the match. Sting also stated that he would need a bunch of stitches in his mouth and that one of his teeth has been knocked out. He also thanked Toni Khan for allowing him to hit this move at this stage of his career.
While he has appeared frequently on TV, Sting has been in matches only a few times and had a considerable gap in between matches. It remains to be seen how long Sting will be out of action due to this injury.
