NXT Women’s Title Final, Tag Title Match Set for Battleground 2023
NXT Women’s Championship Tournament final and Tag Team Championship matches are set for NXT Battleground 2023 card.
Two semifinals took place on NXT May 23 episode. Lyra Valkyrie faced Cora Jade to open the show and got a win after a short back-and-forth match. Tiffany Stratton defeated Roxanne Perez in the main event match after Stratton blocked Pop Rox and hit a rolling driver before hitting a moonsault to get the win.
Valkyrie and Stratton will now face off in the final at Battleground 2023 event. The title became vacant after Indi Hartwell relinquished the title moving to RAW in Draft 2023. Valkyrie and Stratton had a face-off after Strattons’ win in the main event.
NXT Tag Team Championship is set between Gallus and The Creed Brothers. The Creed Brothers challenged Gallus boys last week. Gallus trio was out in the ring and called out The Creed Brothers for not following up on their challenge. The Creed Brothers eventually came out and got into an argument, leading to a brawl between these two sides.
Stacks came to help out The Creeds in a 3-on-2 situation against Gallus’ Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang. The match was later announced confirmed by the commentary team.
NXT Battleground 2023, which airs on May 28, now has 6 matches in total including a last man standing match between Ilja Dragunov and Dijak, and 5 other title matches.
