Adam Cole(c) vs Tommaso Ciampa – NXT Championship Match
They circle around the ring slowly before locking in. Ciampa gets better to come to a stalemate. Ciampa with a headlock, Cole reverses to a hammerlock before Ciampa comes back to the headlock. Running the ropes and shoulder tackles, forces Cole to the outside. Cole manages to get out of DDT. He misses the elbow drop when Ciampa runs after him.
Ciampa holds onto the side headlock until Cole breaks out. Cole hits a shoulder tackle but Ciampa blocks superkick to put another headlock. He blocks a punch in the corner and they continue the slow match. Ciampa blocks a backbreaker before Cole finally gets a hit with a big boot. Tommaso is enraged and throws Cole around the ringside. He sets up Cole on the chair and hits a running knee.
Cole moves out of the ring once again and Ciampa hits a basement dropkick. He follows with a running knee strike now. Cole decides to stay outside. Ciampa drops him on the barricade before another running knee. He breaks the referee count and goes back to unloading on Cole near the timekeeper’s area. Ciampa hits a running strike while Cole was sitting on the table and kisses a fan’s head near him.
Cole blocks a slam and sends Ciampa’s neck into the announce table with a deadlift German Suplex. Action back to the ring and Cole gets the two-count. Cole with a neckbreaker and strikes to the back before putting a lock on his neck. Ciampa bridges it for a pin attempt but soon gets down with a big boot. Both men go to the top and Cole gets better of the Ciampa with knees to the back. A neckbreaker from Cole is turned into backslide.
Cole gets an enziguiri after some dodging from both men. He goes for the sunset flip but Ciampa gets his knees up. Ciampa blocks Cole’s strikes and hits a few clotheslines before a German suplex and a knee strikes. He hits the spin-out powerbomb for two-count. Cole hits a high knee and Ushi-Garoshi to get two-count of his own.
They tussle on the top turnbuckle for a while until Ciampa hits the Air Raid Crash from there. Cole moves to the outside and Ciampa ends up hitting a powerbomb on the announce table. And then one more. He takes back Cole into the ring and hits a running knee. He goes for the last shot but runs into a superkick. Ciampa with a clothesline and a backbreaker powerbomb, but only gets two.
Both men down now. They get up and trade strikes. Cole hits back to back kicks to force Ciampa outside. He flies with the suicide dive, only to run into a high knee from Ciampa. Cole hits the brainbuster as Ciampa tries to get back and gets a near fall. They rise and Cole hits a superkick to the back and last shot. Ciampa moves away and grabs the ropes. Cole goes for the Panama sunrise on the apron, but Ciampa counters it into the Air raid crash there.
Fairytale ending is turned into a back body drop on the floor before Panama sunrise from the announce table. Ciampa is thrown back to the ring and hits a DDT and Fairytale ending for a near fall. Ciampa is frustrated. He grabs Cole but Cole puts him in crossface. Ciampa counters with crossface of his own. Cole reaches the ropes to break the hold.
Roderick Strong distracts the referee to give Fish and O’ Reilly to hit Up-Down on Ciampa. They roll him back in but Ciampa kicks out. Ciampa ducks the last shot and throws Cole on Rielly and Fish. Strong eats a DDT before Ciampa jumps on other UE members. Cole brings him back and hits back to back superkicks and the Last shot. But Ciampa kicks out again.
Strong throws in the title belt into the ring. Cole and Ciampa tussle and knocks out the referee. Ciampa takes care of other UE members. Cole hits a low blow and Ciampa returns the favor. Ciampa hits the Fairytale ending but there is no referee. Johnny Gargano has come to the ring, wearing his DIY shirt. He grabs the title belt and decks Ciampa with it. Cole covers Ciampa as the referee return to the ring. Cole gets the pin after Gargano’s betrayal.
