Luchasaurus Beats Wardlow, Becomes AEW TNT Champion on AEW Collision

Luchasaurus defeated Wardlow to become the new AEW TNT champion on the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17, 2023.

Luchasaurus managed to secure the with the help of Christian Cage. Luchasaurus diverted Wardlow’s attention which allowed Cage to utilize a camera as a weapon to strike the defending champion. Luchasaurus then slammed Wardlow to the mat to get a pinfall to win the match and the title.

Wardlow had won the AEW TNT Championship for the second time by defeating Powerhouse Hobbs on the April 19 episode of AEW Dynamite. Wardlow has defended his TNT championship three times during this time.

The feud between Wardlow and Christian Cage, as well as Luchasaurus, is a very old rivalry. Wardlow defeated Christian Cage at AEW Double or Nothing event PPV in a ladder match where he successfully defended his title.

On the June 7 episode of AEW, Dynamite Wardlow issued an open challenge to Luchasaurus following Luchasaurus’ assault on Brock Anderson, son on Wardlow’s mentor Arn Anderson. Afterward, in the June 14 episode of AEW Dynamite, when Wardlow defeated Jake Hager for the TNT championship, Christian and Luchasaurus interrupted him, and Christian stated that Luchasaurus accepted the challenge while also revealing that they have attacked Arn Anderson also.

For Luchasaurus, it is his first singles title win in AEW. He was earlier AEW Tag Team Champion with Jungle Boy Jack Perry in from January 2022 to June 2022.
