IMPACT Victory Road 2023

IMPACT Victory Road event is an IMPACT Plus Monthly special event, taking place on September 8, 2023 at Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY, US.

Trinity defended IMPACT Knockouts Championship against Alisha Edwards. Josh Alexander faced Steve Maclin in the main event, while Doenna Purrazzo took on Jordynne Grace in a marquee singles match.

NOTES & STORYLINES

IMPACT announced on May 26, 2023, that Victory Road 2023 event would take place on September 8, 2023, in White Plains, NY. Victory Road event series is one of the longest event series from IMPACT Wrestling with its first event taking place in 2004. 2023 event is the 17th event in the series and the fifth event as the IMPACT Plus special.

Trinity(c) vs Alisha Edwards- IMPACT Knockouts Champion

IMPACT announced a 10-woman Battle Royal for IMPACT on AXS TV August 31 episode. The winner of the Battle Royal would earn a shot at Knockouts title at Victory Road against Trinity. Alisha Edwards ended up winning this Battle Royal to set up the match vs Trinity.

Josh Alexander vs Steve Maclin

Josh Alexander and Steve Maclin were supposed to clash at IMPACT Rebellion over Alexander’s World Championship. However, Alexander withdrew from the event due to an injury and also relinquished the title. Maclin won the title at Rebellion. He held it until Against All Odds in June 2023 when he lost it to Alex Shelley. Alexander was competing at Emergence in a tag team match after his return when Maclin also made his return from an injury to attack him. IMPACT then announced a singles match between them for Victory Road.

Deonna Purrazzo vs Jordynne Grace

Jordynne Grace left IMPACT Wrestling in May 2023 after her contract expired. She lost Knockouts title match against Deonna Purrazzo at IMPACT Under Seige event. She was announced to return to IMPACT at Victory Road event on September 8, 2023. Deonna Purrazzo challenged Grace to face her on her return.

Lio Rush(c) vs Kushida – IMPACT X-Division Championship

Kushida won a title shot at X-Division Championship at IMPACT Slammiversary 2023 event by winning the Ultimate-X match. He challenged the champion Lio Rush for the title match at Victory Road event, and the match was officially announced later.

Kenny King vs Tommy Dreamer – Title vs Career match

Kenny King retained IMPACT Digital Media Championship against Johnny Swinger at Emergence 2023 event. King and Sheldon Jean then went on to assault Swinger after the match. When Tommy Dreamer tried to stop him along with the referees and security, King and Jean attacked Dreamer also. On the following episode IMPACT on AXS TV, Dreamer interrupted King and berated him for his behaviour at Emergence. King talked back saying that Dreamer is just a veteran who is trying to take the spotlight away from a young guy like him. Dreamer then challenged him to take the spotlight away from him at Victory Road, and agreed to put his career on the line for a Digital Media title shot.

The Rascalz(Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)(c) vs Motor City Machine Guns(Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) – IMPACT Tag Team Championship

On August 31 Impact TV episode, Chris Sabin beat Zachary Wentz(one half of IMPACT Tag Team Champions) in a singles match, and thus earned a shot at the titles. The Motor City Machine Guns were then announced to challenge for the title against The Rascalz at Victory Road.

PCO vs Bully Ray – Anything Goes Match

PCO was helping Scott D’Amore during his rivalry with Bully Ray and Steve Maclin. A tag team match announced between them for IMPACT Slammiversary event. However, Ray and Maclin beatdown PCO backstage on July 6 IMPACT episode before putting him through a buring table. PCO returned in August and continued to target Ray. This eventually led to an Anything Goes match being announced between them for Victory Road.

MK Ultra(Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly) vs SHAWntourage(Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans)

MK Ultra were set to defend Knockouts Tag Team titles against SHAWntourage at Emergence event after Gisele Shaw beat Masha Slamovich in a singles match. However, Death Dollz and The Coven were also added to the match later. MK Ultra were able to retain the title at Emergence. On September 7, IMPACT announced that MK Ultra would now defend the title against SHAWntourage at Victory Road.
