Drew Gulak Becomes WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Stomping Grounds
Drew Gulak has managed to pin Akira Tozawa in the triple threat match against Tozawa and Tony Nese to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Stomping Grounds 2019
Storyline:
In search of the new no. 1 contender for Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese, 205 Live General Manager held a fatal 4-way match between Drew Gulak, Akira Tozawa, Oney Lorcan and Ariya Daivari. The match ended when both Gulak and Tozawa were in a small package pinning position and both had their shoulders down. After inconsequential evidence over the winner, the Championship match was then announced as a triple threat.
Match Description:
Gulak dropkicks Nese to start the match. Tozawa engages with him and sent out. Nese also sends him out and starts working with Tozawa. Nese hits a German suplex transitioning into a pinning position. Gulak comes in and Nese also takes him to the pin and we get to see the double break. Nese hits the superkick on Gulak on the outside and Tozawa takes him out with a summersault dive. He brings back Nese to the ring to hit the missile dropkick and gets a two-count. Gulak had Tozawa locked in a submission move and Nese comes in to break the hold.
Nese picks Tozawa in the vertical suplex position and throws him on Gulak. Gulak now locks Nese in a submission move and Tozawa breaks it with a shooting star press. Nese splashes Gulak in the corner and hits a moonsault to get two-counts. Tozawa comes back and starts trading chops with Nese. Tozawa goes on the top turnbuckle and Nese joins him. Tozawa gets better of him but Gulak comes back to hit the Superplex on him. Gulak plants Nese in the middle and Tozawa breaks the ping with a shining wizard. Multiple counters and Near-fall follow until Gulak hits the torture neckbreaker on Tozawa to pin him.
