According to UFC President, Dana White, Kamzat Chimaev might compete in another bout before the end of this year.

On Friday after UFC 268 ceremonial weigh-ins, White told TSN that UFC is working to book a match that will bring Chimaev back into the octagon for the final stretch of the year.

Dana White said there is a possibility that Khamzat Chimaev might compete this year again. However, he didn’t give a single hint about his opponent.

White was also asked about whether Chimaev is next if Usman defended his Welterweight championship this Saturday at UFC 268. White replied by saying he doesn’t really know if he is ready for the title shot yet. But he is likely one or two steps away from it.

Khamzat Chimaev recently had a match at UFC 267 where he defeated Li Jingliang via submission in just three minutes. Chimaev is now 4-0 in UFC and with this victory, he also entered the list of top 10 Welterweight fighters.

Five more UFC events will take place this year including the promotion’s last PPV of 2021 in the form of UFC 269
