3 weeks back, the rumors were circulating regarding Torrie Wilson and Brutus Beefcake to be inducted as part of the class of 2019 WWE Hall of Fame. But next day, only Torrie Wilson’s name was announced for the induction and while Harlem Heat was also added to the list of this year’s inductees, Brutus’ name is still not confirmed. Although, if recent rumors are to be believed, it might change this week. The website Rajah.com is reporting that Brutus is still planned to be inducted as the part of the class of 2019 WWE Hall of Fame and his name is likely to announced before this week’s RAW episode.
Brutus Beefcake(real name Edward Leslie) is a former WWE Tag Team champion with Greg Valentine as his partner in the Dream Team. He worked a match at the inaugural WrestleMania against David Sammartino which resulted in a double disqualification. He also had some feuds with Hulk Hogan and would be fellow 2019 Hall of Famer, the Honky Tonk Man. He is also famous for cut his opponents’ hairs after defeating them.
After a parasailing accident in 1990 where Brutus suffered a crushed facial skeleton, his career was put on hold for almost two years. He would later return 1991 and began hosting the interview segment “The Barber Shop”. In the same segment, the famous Rockers split up happened when Shawn Michaels superkicked partner Marty Jannetty and threw him through a plate glass window. Upon joining WCW in 1994, Brutus worked various characters like the Butcher, the Man with No Name, the Booty Man and the Disciple of Hulk Hogan.
Until now, WWE has announced D-Generation-X, the Honky Tonk Man, Torrie Wilson and Harlem Heat as the inductees for this year’s ceremony. The WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at Toyota Center in Brooklyn, New York on 6th April.
