Braun Strowman was released from his WWE contract on Wednesday, 2 June 2021, in a shocking move from the company.

“The Monster Among Men” has reacted to his release via Twitter. In a short tweet, Strowman “What a chapter in life. Thank you!!!!!”.

Backstage Update on Braun Strowman’s WWE Release

As per Fightful Select, Braun Strowman’s release was not a surprise for the talent close to the situation. The report says Strowman’s $1 million per year contract was one of the reasons that led to WWE parting ways with him.

Strowman signed a new four-year deal in 2019, reportedly worth $1.1 million per year. The sources claimed that Strowman knew his worth during that contract negotiation and was very private about the contract talks until it was finalized.

WWE has now realized that Strowman’s contract value is high, and they decided to part ways with him as they look for more cost-cutting. It is also believed that the decision regarding Strowman’s release came in recent days since he was part of the WWE Championship triple threat match at WrestleMania Backlash two weeks back.

Braun Strowman’s WWE Career

Strowman, real name Adam Scherr, has a career in Strongmen competition before joining WWE in 2013 with a developmental contract. After debuting with NXT in December 2014, Strowman was called up to the main roster with The Wyatt Family.

In almost six years run in the main roster, Strowman won the Money in the Bank briefcase(2018), Greatest Royal Rumble match in 2018, Andre the Giant Battle Royal in 2019 as well as WWE RAW Tag Team Championship twice, Intercontinental Championship before finally winning the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36.
