Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Revolution 2023 PPV event which was live from Chase Center in San Franciso, CA, on March 5, 2023.

A 60-minute ironman match was the main event as MJF defended AEW World Championship for the first time at a PPV event. On the other side was a master technician in Bryan Danielson. Who was able to get more falls in the match?

The second big match on the AEW Revolution card was a Texas Deathmatch between Hangman Adam Page and Jon Moxley. The women’s title was on the line in a triple-threat match as Jamie Hayter defended against Saraya and Ruby Soho. AEW Tag Team Championship was contested in a 4-way match which involved champions The Gunns, former champions The Acclaimed, and teams of Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy & Danhausen.

A powerhouse clash saw AEW TNT Championship on the line in the match between Samoa Joe and Wardlow. The Elite’s defended World Trios title against House of Black completed the line-up of title matches at Revolution 2023. A buried alive match between Christian Cage and Jungle Boy Jack Perry closed their rivalry. Ricky Starks got a rematch against Chris Jericho in a singles match.

  • Mark Briscoe, Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Meido defeated Josh Woods, Tony Nese & Ari Daivari in a tag team match via pinfall.(Pre-show)
  • Ricky Starks defeated Chris Jericho in a singles match via pinfall.

Live Updates

Renee Paquette is hosting the pre-show along with RJ City. After telling us how to watch order AEW PPV, Renee takes us through the match card. Orange Cassidy and Danhausen join RJ City for some comedy. Danhausen goes on to name so many he wants to curse except him and Cassidy.

We are sent to the video package for Hangman Page vs Moxley. Don Callis joins Renee to discuss the match. He calls Moxley a sociopath and has some sympathy for Hangman due to him being friends with The Elite. Renee asks for some credits for Moxley for his technical ability and his work on jiu-jitsu. Renee then asks Callis about The Elite vs House of Black. Callis says they do not know how to prepare for something like HOB, but The Young Bucks are the greatest tag teams in the world while Omega is a wrestling god. Callis also says that he prays to Kenny Omega every night.

Mark Briscoe, Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Meido vs Josh Woods, Tony Nese & Ari Daivari(Pre-show)

Penta and Nese start the match. Nese pulls out of the lock up for showing off his biceps. Penta signals for Zero Meido which brings all the participants of the match to start a brawl. After beating up Woods and Daivari on the floor, Briscoe and Fenix come into the ring to attack Nese. They hit suicide dives on Woods and Daivari on the floor. Penta hits a brainbuster on Nese for a near fall.

Sterling runs a distraction and allows his side to take over control. Quick tags from heels to take control over Penta for a while. Nese and Daivari hit a delayed double suplex on Penta for a two-count. Daivari nails a couple of punches before drawing a big chop from Penta. Daivari hits a neckbreaker before more quick tags to keep Penta in the corner. Penta rolls through Woods and hits a double DDT on Nese and Daivari. He hits a slingblade on Woods.

Fenix tags in and hits a kick on Daivari, a boot and an arm drag on Nese and a barrage of boots on Woods. Woods counters tornillo with an uppercut before an exploder into the turnbuckle. Penta breaks the pin with a stomp off the top. Nese tags in and places Fenix on the top turnbuckle. Nese gets Fenix on his shoulders but Fenix hits a hurricanrana.

Briscoe gets the tag to hit quick strikes on Woods and Daivari. He nails a Pele kick on Woods before a dropkick and a neckbreaker on Daivari. Woods and Nese pull Daivari out, and Lucha Bros hit them with suicide dives. Briscoe also hits a suicide dive after jumping from a chair. Briscoe goes to the top and Nese trips him by pulling the referee into the ropes. Briscoe fights off Nese on the top. Lucha Bros hit Woods and Daivari with powerbombs while they hit a superplex on Briscoe in a tower of doom move.

Nese hits a 450-splash on Briscoe but Rey breaks the pin. As the chaos settles, Briscoe was looking for Jay Driller but the heels drop him with a double-team move. Briscoe kicks out of the pin. Lucha Bros pull out Woods and Nese before hitting a double superkick on Daivari. They hit a double-team combo on Nese and Daivari before Briscoe hits Froggie Bow on Daivari for the pin.

After the match, Alex Abrahantes pulls Mark Sterling into the ring and Penta hits Fear Factor on Sterling.


AEW Double or Nothing 2023 date is announced as May 28. Jericho Appreciation Society are backstage with RJ City and upset about being banned from the ringside. They throw around some tantrums. Toni Storm joins RJ City and he asks her about their strategy for Women’s Championship match. City pitches the name “sweet cheek music” name for Toni’s hip attack. Toni sprays a big “L” on City’s backside.

Britt Baker joins Renee and says she brought legitimacy to the division when she was the champion and Jamie Hayter, the best women’s wrestler in the world, now holds the title. She says they won’t mess with anyone unless they mess with them. Baker says Saraya and Toni are frustrated and confused, and that’s why they are spraying “L” on everyone.

We get a video package for Samoa Joe vs Wardlow match before Powerhouse Hobbs joins RJ City for an interview. Tony Schiavone tells us about the rules for Buried Alive match, which is nothing but a casket match. An interview with Adam Cole follows. Jim Ross joins the commentary table as the main card starts.

Chris Jericho vs Ricky Starks

Jericho comes out first. Starks has his ribs taped up. They start with quick punches before Ricky sends Jericho into the turnbuckle. He takes Jericho from turnbuckle to turnbuckle to slam him face and hit chops. Jericho hits back with chops before Ricky hits a tackle and poses on top on him. Jericho moves to the floor and Ricky hits him with a suicide dive. Jericho is sent into the barricade. Jericho catches Ricky with a boot as he returns to the ring. Jericho whips him into the corner.

Ricky fires back with forearms before Jericho drops him with an ax handle. Jericho misses the lionsault but manages to drop Stark on the ropes before pushing him off the apron and into the barricade. Jericho drives Ricky into the barricade one more time before taking him back to the ring. Jericho hits some punches before booting Ricky into the corner. Ricky hits some chops before Jericho hits a double underhook backbreaker.

Jericho’s slaps enrage Ricky. He starts to fire quick punches. Jericho turns around a hard whip to send him to the apron. He hits a springboard kick on the apron before kicking Starks down to the floor with a basement slide dropkick. Back to the ring, Jericho puts on an Octopus stretch. Ricky fires back with punches. He follows up with running forearm and tornado DDT for a two-count. Ricky goes to the top. Jericho joins him. Ricky drops him back but Jericho hits a knee when Ricky jumps.

Jericho hits a Death Valley Driver to get a two-count. Jericho whips him to the corner before Ricky blocks Codebreaker and turns it into a powerbomb for a two-count. Ricky goes for Roshambo but Jericho escapes. Jericho counters a spear into a codebreaker for a near fall. They trade forearms while on thier knees. Jericho misses a double ax handle from the top and Ricky hits him with a spear for a near fall.

Ricky hits a superkick but misses a moonsault. Jericho quickly puts him in Boston Crab Walls of Jericho. Ricky rolls in to counter it. Ricky puts on a single-leg crab himself. Sammy Guevara runs out and Action Andretti attacks him on the ramp. Jericho gets his bat as the referee is distracted. Jericho hits Ricky with his bat to the midsection. Jericho goes for Judas Effect but Ricky blocks it with his elbow. Ricky hits Roshambo to get the pinfall.

Christian Cage vs Jungle Boy Jack Perry – Final Burial Match

Perry is in jeans. They start with quick punches. Perry gets a takedown for more punches. Cage moves to the floor and tries to pull his groin into the ringpost. Perry pulls him into the ringpost instead. On the floor, Cage hits a chop. Cage bails out into the crowd as Perry was going for a suicide dive. Perry follows him up and they start to fight in the crowd. Perry brings Cage back to the ringside.

Cage now goes up the ramp before realizing that he is going towards the casket. Perry beats him up on the ramp before Cage gets back into the ring. Perry bites him on the head. He rains down with punches. Cage pulls him off his hair. Cage hits punches now. Cage stretches Perry’s arm for a while. He calls Perry a loser. Cage jumps to the floor but misses his punch. Perry hits him with tope suicida, throws him into the barricade and then into the steel steps.

Cage is busted open near his eyebrows. Cage trips him on the steel steps to drop him spine-first. Cage pulls out Perry’s belt and whips him with it many times. Perry walks up to the ramp and onto the stage. Cage opens the casket, which has some chair in it. Perry fires back with some shots. They counter each other before Cage hits a back body drop onstage. Cage goes for a kill switch on a chair but Perry pushes him off the stage and hits a senton.

Back on the stage, Perry looks for a chair shot when Cage hits a low blow. Cage closes the casket and slams Perry’s face on it a few times. He puts Perry inside the casket but Perry blocks the lid. He fires back with punches while still inside the casket. Cage throws some dirt into his eyes. Cage hits a kill switch on the stage. He sets up for con-chair-to but Perry moves away. Perry counters the chair with a shovel.

Cage gets the shovel and tries to choke Perry with it. He rakes Perry’s eyes before Perry locks him in the snear trap and uses a shovel to choke Cage. Perry sets up the con-chair-to and hits it to get the crowd going. Perry pulls Cage into the casket. He waits for a while before kissing Cage on the forehead and closes the lid. The casket falls down the stage as soon as the lid closes.

The Elite(Kenny Omega, Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson)(c) vs House of Black(Malakai Black, Buddy Mathews & Brody King) – AEW Trios World World Championship

Kenny and Buddy start the match with waistlock switches. Buddy gets an armwringer on. Omega rolls over before countering it. Omega hits a slam before Buddy blocks a shoulder tackle. More quick action as Omega comes out with a side headlock takedown. Black tags in now. Omega refuses to tag out. Black starts with a chop but Omega blocks a kick. Omega puts on armwringer now. Black trips him before running into a boot from Omega. They trade arm drags and Black locks in the arm.

Omega trips him with an ankle pick. Black blocks One-Winged angle and Omega ducks Black Mass kick. They come to a stalemate. Tags to Matt and Brody. The Young Bucks try to double-team on Brody, which leads to all six men getting into the ring for a brawl. The ring is cleared one by one. The Bucks hit suicide dives on Black and Mathews. Omega hits a hurricanrana on Brody to send him to the floor and hits HOB with a suicide dive. Nick hits a 450-splash, but Brody kicks out of the pin at one.

Brody hits an armdrag on Nick. He sends Omega into the barricade and hits him with a crossbody on a chair and barricade. Black hits Matt with sidekicks on the floor. Nick reverses a spinebuster but Brody tags in and hits a corner splash quickly. Nick tries to tag but nobody is there. Nick hits an enzuigiri and tags in Omega. Omega hits double ax handles from the top on Brody. More ax handles from Omega on the other two opponents. Omega hits a dropkick on Brody to get a two-count.

Brody gets his knees up on a moonsault. Mathews hits a running kick on Omega. The Bucks hit double superkicks on Brody and Omega hits him with V-Trigger. Omega fails to get Brody on top and Brody drops him with a short-arm lariat. Mathews and Black come in as they try to triple-team. Nick saves Omega but Black nails him with roundhouse kick. Black puts on an armbar on Omega. Matt hits dive to break it.

The match breaks down with big moves one after the other from everyone. Black ends that sequence with a running knee on Omega. Black and Omega trade forearms now. Black hits an elbow before Omega hits kicks and a knee strike to drop him. Brody puts Matt in a choke when Julia Hart distracts him. Nick saves Matt with a kick. Omega hits snap dragon suplexes on Black. Julia comes to the apron now to block Omega’s run for V-Trigger. Omega ducks a Black Mass and ends up catching Julia with V-Trigger. Black hits Black Mass on Omega and Matt breaks the pin.

Matt is hit with Dante’s Inferno. The Young Bucks are hit with a suicide dive and thrown over the barricade. House of Black surround Omega but the Bucks return to start a series of superkicks. Omega joins them in the superkick party. Mathews saves Black from a three-way BTE. Mathews sends Omega to the floor. The Bucks hit him with another kick. Mathews blocks Meltzer Driver and Brody King comes into the ring. House of Black hit a triple-team finisher on one of the Jackson Brothers to get the pinfall.

Jamie Hayter(c) vs Ruby Soho vs Saraya – Triple Threat Match for AEW Women’s World Championship

Britt Baker and Toni Storm are at ringside. Hayter goes after Saraya. Ruby avoids Saraya being whipped into her. Ruby ducks a clothesline from Hayter. Saraya pulls Hayter out of the ring and sends her into the barricade. Saraya throws Hayter over the barricade and into crowd. Ruby hits Saraya with a dropkick through the ropes. Ruby hits a crossbody dive on both women in the crowd.

Some brawling in the crowd until Saraya and Hayter drop Ruby on the barricade. Saraya and Hayter return to the ring with Saraya in control. She stomps on Hayter in the corner. Saraya catapults Hayter on the mat. She hits quick knee strikes to Hayter’s face. Hayter drops Saraya with a DDT on the apron. Ruby hits a crossbody on Hayter in the ring. She hits a DDT for a two-count. Ruby puts on a choke now.

Hayter gets to her feet and fights off both opponents. She sends them to opposite corners to hit running forearms. She hits a double suplex and double lariats before getting two counts on both women. She looks to hit Haytred on Ruby when Saraya nails her with a forearm. All three women trade shots. Ruby drops Saraya with a Saito Suplex before Hayter hits Hayt-breaker on Ruby. All three women are down in the ring.

Ruby and Hayter ping-pong Saraya with forearm shots. Saraya hits back with punches before they drop her at the same time. Ruby hits a hurricanrana spike for a two-count. Ruby goes to the top and Hayter joins her on the top. Saraya comes in and hits a powerbomb Hayter which also hits superplex on Ruby. Saraya puts Ruby in a stretch. Hayter hits Saraya with a lariat.

Toni distracts Hayter and Hayter drops her off the apron with a forearm. Saraya hits Hayter with a twisting neckbreaker. Baker distracts Saraya now. Saraya nails her with a forearm to drop her off the apron. Ruby hits Saraya with No Future. More back-and-forth action between Hayter and Ruby before Hayter puts her in a crucifix backslide to get the pinfall.

Winner – Jamie Hayter

Ruby rolls to the floor after the pin on her. Toni attacks Hayter and joins Saraya in beating her up. Baker joins the brawl. Ruby looks disappointed from the floor. Ruby gets in and throws Saraya and Toni to the floor, seemingly siding with AEW Originals. But, it was a ruse as she hits No Future kick on Baker. She asks for the spray paint can and paints “L” on Baker and Hayter.

Jon Moxley vs “Hangman” Adam Page – Texas Deathmatch

Page attacks Moxley on the floor. They brawl into the crowd immediately. Page brings Moxley back to ringside and throws Moxley into the barricade. Page ducks a lariat in the ring and starts to trade chops. They trade forearms now. Moxley nails a big forearm to drop Page. The referee starts a countdown for Page. Moxley picks up barbed wire now. He goes to put it on Page but Page catches it and rakes it on Moxley’s head. Page kicks at his face in the corner after this. Moxley is split open already.

Page wraps the barbed wire around his leg and then goes to stomp on Mox’s chest. Moxley blocks his boot and trips him before unloading with punches. He hits a barbed wire-laden punches now. He pulls out a fork from his boots. Page gets a takedown with a double leg. Moxley traps him in an arm triangle as Page goes for some ground and pound. Moxley rakes his head with the fork.

Moxley hits Page with the fork a few more times. Moxley sets up a barbed wire chair in the corner. Page fights back and tries to throw Mox into the chair. Moxley counters and throws Page into the barbed chair instead. Mox puts the chair in the middle of the ring. He puts Page into a Single-leg Crab on top of the chair. Page rolls over and breaks free. Mox then hits the barbed chair on Page’s back.

Moxley brings more chairs into the ring. He ties two chairs together with barbed wire. Page gets him on his shoulder but Moxley slips out. Mox unloads with punches from the second rope. Page picks him up and hits a powerbomb on the chairs. They both get up before the countdown. Mox rolls to the floor. Page wraps the barbed wire around his torso before hitting Orihara moonsault on Moxley on the floor.

Moxley manages to beat the countdown again. Page gets into the ring and Moxley catches him with an RKO. Moxley brings out a big chain and a couple of bricks from underneath the ring. Moxley puts Page’s hand in between the bricks and kicks at it. Moxley then hits a Piledriver on top of the chain. The referee starts to countdown against Page, but he beats it at 7. Moxley ties his legs with a chain before going for a choke. Page bites Moxley’s hand.

Moxley sets up a barbed wire board on the floor with the floor. He goes for a piledriver on a chair now. Page counters and hits a big lariat. Page hits a big shot. He blocks a big boot before dropping Mox on a barbed chair with a fallaway slam. Page hits Dead Eye on the barbed chair now. Moxley beats the count by slipping to the floor and using the apron to stand up. Page hits him with a plancha to send him into barbed wire table.

Moxley joins Page on the top rope. He rakes his back with his nails. Page also does the same before Moxley picks up barbed wire and hits it on Page’s back. Moxley throws Page into the barbed table on the floor. The referee starts the countdown but Page gets up at 9 and half. Moxley hits a king kong lariat as Page gets into the ring. Hangman gets up at 7 and hypes up. Page no-sells a lariat and hits one of his own. Moxley hits Deathrider and curb stomp on Page on top of the bricks. Page gets up once again and Moxley puts him in a rear naked choke. Page drops down.

Moxley starts to wrap a chain around his arm and neck. Page gets up and pulls him by the chain to hit a big lariat. Page goes for a Dead Eye on the bricks, but Mox blocks it. Page instead wraps a chain around his neck. Moxley hits a low blow to get out of it. Page picks up a brick and hits it right in his face. Page hits a buckshot lariat with a chain wrapped around the neck. Page hits another lariat to drop Moxley over the ropes. Page grabs the chain and hangs Moxley in the air with the chain still wrapped. Moxley taps out.

Samoa Joe(c) vs Wardlow – AEW TNT Championship

Hobbs is watching the match from the skybox. Wardlow rushes Joe with as the bell rings. Joe rolls to the floor, and Wardlow continues to beat him up at ringside. Joe is thrown back to the ring where he catches Wardlow on the apron with a shot. Joe hits a suicide dive on Wardlow. Back to the ring, Joe nails Wardlow with his signature jabs. Wardlow counters a whip with a moonsault.

Wardlow keeps the beatdown going with some heavy blows. Some shots to the back follow a hard whip to the corner. Wardlow hits some chops before choking Joe against the ropes. Joe hits a kick to the back of his knees and then swipes him with a leg sweep. Joe starts to work on Wardlow’s knee. Joe hits quick punches all over the upper body. Wardlow whips him to the corner but Joe hits back with an Urinage.

Joe continues to stomp on Wardlow’s knee. Wardlow gets back up and trades punches. Joe hits a kick to his leg to drop him again. Joe puts on a heel hook now. Wardlow grabs the ropes to break it. Joe runs the ropes and runs into a spinebuster from Wardlow. Wardlow hits an F5 and a Swanton bomb. Joe blocks a lariat and puts on the Coquina Clutch. Joe takes Wardlow to the mat with the choke. Wardlow is some distance away from the ropes and starts to fade out. He gets his energy back and gets his leg to the ropes. Joe hits a Samoan Drop to get a two-count.

Joe goes for a Muscle Buster but Wardlow blocks it. Joe nails him with chop and gets to the second rope. Wardlow slips down and picks up Joe to hit a powerbomb. Joe blocks the second powerbomb with a lariat. Joe then signals for powerbomb symphony but Wardlow slips out. Wardlow puts Joe in the Coquina clutch now. Joe goes to sleep and the referee calls the match.

The Gunn Club(Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn)(c) vs Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs The Acclaimed(Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) vs Orange Cassidy & Danhausen – 4-way Tag Team Match for AEW World Tag Team Championship

Cassidy and Jarrett start the match. Jarrett mocks Cassidy with a strut after ducking his lazy lariat. Cassidy ducks Jarrett and mocks him with a lazy strut. Cassidy hits back drops on Jarrett, followed by Lethal and The Gunns. Danhausen comes in and Cassidy whips him into Lethal and Jarrett. Jarrett blocks a double team on Lethal. Danhausen hits a bridging suplex on Lethal.

The Gunns tag in and beat up Danhausen for a while. Danhausen fights out of a double team and tags in Cassidy. Cassidy nails The Gunns with forearms and slams their faces into the turnbuckle. He hits a tornado DDT on Austin and a suicide dive on Colten. Austin runs to Lethal to tag out. Lethal trades punches with Cassidy before hitting him with a backbreaker and flatliner combo.

The Acclaimed finally tag in off Cassidy and attack Lethal. Sonjay Dutt tries to interfere and they hit him with “Scissor me Timbers”. The Gunns attack The Acclaimed to stop their momentum. Jarrett chokes Bowens with the ropes as the referee is trying to get things. Lethal puts on a figure four on Bowens. Austin Gunn tags in when Bowens breaks the submission. Austin goes for a delayed vertical suplex as Jarrett, Lethal and Colten knock off other from the apron.

A four-way attack on Bowens follows. Bowens somehow tags in Caster who runs rampant against both the heel teams. Lethal and Jarrett send Caster out of the ring. The Gunns finally turn on Lethal and Jarrett to throw them out of the ring. Satnam comes into the ring and throws the Gunns out of the ring. Danhausen comes in to stand up to Satnam. Sonjay also comes and Danhausen hits him with a suplex. Sonjay goes for a chokeslam on Danhausen but Orange Cassidy hits him with an Orange punch. Danhausen hits him a punch to midsection.

Satnam hits them with chokeslam before Billy hits Satnam with fameasser and clears him from the ring. The Gunns hit a double low-blow on their father. The Acclaimed attack The Gunns from behind. They keep up with double team attacks. Bowens hits a spinebuster on Austin while Caster hits micdrop. Colten breaks the pin. Colten throws Bowens over the barricade. Jarrett tags in off Austin. Caster ducks a guitar shot from Jarrett. The referee takes the guitar away but Lethal hits Caster with the Golden Globe. Jarrett hits Caster with the Stroke but he kicks out of the pin.

Jarrett gets into an argument with the referee and pushes her. The referee pushes Jarrett to the corner and Austin tags in. Austin throws Jarrett into Lethal on the floor. Danhausen tags in off Caster. Danhausen hits a German suplex on Austin. Colten tags in and The Gunns hits Danhausen with Big Rig to get the pinfall.

Winners – The Gunn Club

After the match, Renee Paqeutte interviews The Gunns. The Gunns call themselves the best tag team in the world. FTR’s music hits and they come out to the ring to start a brawl. FTR hit Shatter Machine on Austin and stand tall.

MJF(c) vs Bryan Danielson – 60 Minutes Ironman Match for AEW World Championship

MJF gets a string quartet in his entrance. He also has the mask that he had as the Joker at All Out last year. The bell rings and the 60-minute countdown clock starts at the bottom of the screen. MJF is hesitant to engage. He rolls out of the ring. He hits a snap suplex when they finally lock up. Bryan gets him in a back rack as they lock up again. MJF comes out of it in desperation. They run the ropes and Bryan hits an arm drag.

MJf hits a hip toss after a while before hitting a body slam. A headlock takedown from Bryan before MJF returns the favor. More counters in quick succession before they pause. The crowd is on their feet after that sequence. MJF offers a handshake, but Bryan kicks it away after thinking for a while. MJF rolls out of the ring and into the crowd. He grabs a chair and throws it away. He then takes a glass of water and throws it on a child.

MJF gets into the ring to break a countdown before quickly getting out again. Bryan chases him to the floor but MJF gets into the ring. They lock up again and Bryan gets him in a cradle for a two-count. Bryan puts on bodyscissors before he stomps on his legs. Bryan hits sidekicks in the corner now. The referee takes him away from the corner. MJF pulls him into the turnbuckle and then hits a back body drop. MJF hits another back body drop now. Bryan returns the favor with two back-to-back body drops.

MJF drops Bryan’s arm on the ropes before driving his shoulder into the turnbuckle. MJF gets to the ropes and takes a sip of water. MJF pulls Bryan by his arm and drives the shoulder into the turnbuckle once again. Bryan fires back with punches but MJF pulls him by his hair. He continues to rile up the crowd with lewd gestures. To the floor, MJF sends Bryan’s shoulder into the barricade now. Bryan hits a suicide dive. He goes for another one but MJF sends him into the barricade with his own momentum.

MJF puts on a pumphandle lock before turning it into a DDT. MJF puts on a lock on his shoulder. Bryan gets up and hits some punches. MJF hits him with back body drop by pulling him by his shoulder. MJF continues to work on the arm as the match gets past 15 minutes. Bryan counters with a sunset flip powerbom to drop MJF off the top. Bryan drops MJF into the turnbuckle with a drop toe hold. Bryan hits running dropkicks three times. Bryan hits some punches before hitting a hurricanrana off the top.

MJF blocks Busaika knee and hits a double stomp on Bryan’s arm. Bryan ducks him and runs the ropes but MJF counters a hurricanrana with a powerbomb on his knees for a two-count. MJF blocks the Labell lock and catapults Bryan to the apron. MJF superkicks Bryan off the apron. He asks the referee to start the countdown. MJF goes for a moonsault when Bryan gets up. Bryan ducks it and MJF hits his knees. Bryan hits a suicide dive and brings MJF back in. MJF counters a diving headbutt from the top with armbar. Bryan gets up and MJF hits him with pumphandle gotch style piledriver. Bryan kicks out of the pin.

Bryan creates the momentum by running the ropes and hits a flying clothesline. He gets a two-count with a roll-up. They trade pin attempts with side headlock takeovers. Bryan gets a backslide for a two-count. The roll around inside cradle for more pin attempts. They trade jacknife covers then. The referee might be bamboozled by counting for two-count by now. MJF hits a clothesline. Bryan hits back with a clothesline of his own. Both men are down. Bryan gets up at 9 and waits for MJF to get up to hit Busaika knee and gets the pinfall at 26 minutes mark.

Bryan waits for MJF to get up again. He goes for another Busaika knee but MJF drops down. MJF hits a lowblow and the referee calls for a DQ. Bryan earns another fall. MJF covers Bryan immediately to get his first pinfall. MJF gets another pinfall in the same move. Bryan kicks out of the third fall. Bryan hits suplex and MJF has hurt his knees. MJF rolls to the floor and Bryan hits him with chops. Bryan sets him up against the barricade and goes for a running start. MJF cuts him off with a lariat. Bryan hits back with a lariat of his own and nails him with sidekicks. He hits a running dropkick against the barricade as we cross the 30 minutes mark.

Bryan slams MJF’s knee into the ring post for a few times. Bryan puts on a figure four and puts pressure on the knee. MJF says he hates Bryan and slaps him. Bryan punches him back and puts more pressure on the leg lock. MJF turns it around but Bryan turns it over once again. MJF is closer t to the ropes though and breaks the lock. They are on the apron now. MJF goes for a piledriver but his knees give up. They trade shots before Bryan starts to kick at MJF’s knee. Bryan sets up MJF on the top turnbuckle. MJF hits back elbow and holds onto the post to avoid a move. MJF drops Bryan back to the floor.

MJF takes his composure back and sets up Bryan on the timekeeper’s table. MJF gets to the top and hits an elbow drop to put Bryan through the table. MJF comes back to the ring and asks the refere to start a countdown. Bryan wakes up at 5 and manages to beat the countdown. MJF takes Bryan back to the floor and hits Bryan with a piledriver on the rumbles of the broken table. MJF hurts his knees also with the move. Bryan is split open on his head. MJF gets up and squeezes Bryan’s head to pour out more blood. Back to the ring, MJF hits Heatsinker to get his third pinfall.

MJF takes out a water bottle and takes a few sips before getting back to the ring for a barrage of punches on Bryan. MJF stomps on his arm next. He screams at Bryan that he sucks and that MJF is the best one. MJF rakes on Bryan’s open wounds. MJF kicks at his face. Bryan starts to get up on his feet but can not summon the strength to hit back. MJF wipes his nose on Bryan. Bryan hits a punch but MJF hits him with a headbutt on the open wound. MJF tries to send Bryan into the barricade but Bryan reverses it to send him into the ring post.

Bryan hits a running knee from the apron. He gets to the top and dives on MJF on the floor. He brings MJF back into the ring and goes to the top again. MJF halts him on the top. MJF gets to the top. Bryan slips out to the floor and trips MJF on the turnbuckle. Bryan hits a spider superplex. He then hits a diving headbutt. He can not get to the cover immediately though. MJF’s head is also split open. Bryan drags over to him after 30 seconds but MJF is able to kick out. Bryan hits Busaika Knee and puts on the Labell lock now. MJF taps out and Bryan gets his third fall to level the score at 3-3.

Bryan’s own shoulder is hurt in that move though. He takes a breather before going for the Labell lock once again. MJF counters it with a fujiwara armbar. Bryan works well to turn it around into a crossface. MJF drags towards the ropes but Bryan rolls him over to the middle again. MJF is struggling again. He manages to turn Bryan over and puts on the armbar again. MJF drags Bryan into the middle and wraps his legs around Bryan’s arm. Bryan tries to reach with his other arm. MJF pulls that arm to put on Rings of Saturn. MJF also grabs one of his legs but Bryan gets his other leg on the ropes to break the move. Just 7 minutes remaining in the match.

They trade punches and headbutts while on their knees. They continue to trade shots as they get up. They collide in the middle and drop back to their knees. MJF is crying while Bryan is laughing. 5 minutes remaining in the match. They both start to fire punches. MJF hits a chop. Bryan hits back with one of his own and MJF has to flick at his eyes to stop the barrage. Bryan hits a superkick and MJF hits a forearm shot. Bryan hits a forearm to drop MJF. MJF sends Bryan to the apron and drops his arm on the ropes. MJF hits another Heatsinker but Bryan kicks out of the pin.

MJF puts Bryan on the top. Bryan hits him with hammer elbows on the top turnbuckle. MJF pulls him over and hits an avalanche piledriver. MJF has hurt his knees and does not move over for the pin. Just two minutes remaining. MJF gets his wind back with just 90 seconds left. Bryan sucks him into a single leg crab. Bryan drags him over to the middle with 60 seconds remaining. MJF tries to to drag himself to the ropes but Bryan brings him back to the middle. MJF is in trouble with 20 seconds remaining. Bryan hooks his arm also with 10 seconds remaining. Bryan puts more pressure but MJF hangs on. The match is announced as a draw.

Tony Schiavone gets some instructions in his headset on the commentary table and he goes over to tell it to the announcer. Tony Khan has announced a sudden death for one more fall. MJF is enraged and pushes the referee. The referee pushes him back and Bryan rolls him up for a two-count. MJF hits a low-blow behind the referee’s back but Bryan also kicks out of the pin. MJF gets the title belt and the referee tells him he will lose the match if he uses it. Bryan ducks a punch with Dynamite Diamond ring and hits reverse hurricanrana. Bryan hits a Busaika knee but MJF kicks out.

Bryan puts on the single leg crab now. The referee sees the dynamite diamond ring and takes it away. MJF is in trouble but he summons his strength to drag to the ropes. MJF drops to the floor and brings out a fire extinguisher. Bryan goes towards MJF and MJF hits him with the fire extinguisher. MJF puts on the labell lock in the middle of the ring. The referee checks on Bryan who holds his arms in the air in the third attempt. MJF puts more pressure on the labell lock and Bryan finally taps out.

Winner – MJF

MJF drags himself to the corner as he gets the title. His face is all read in blood. The final shot of the event shows MJF just lying there in the corner.

  1. I used to be an AEW fan but not any more. I think the MJF storyline is far too unrealistic. I understand you have predetermined results but when you have storylines that are stupid, you treat the fans like idiots. I would rather watch WWE. The only reason I stopped watching WWE is because of the way they destroyed WCW and disrespected it’s memory by pretending it never existed. The MJF title reign is beyond stupid. IF wrestling was 100% real with no stories, no one would allow MJF to choose when to defend his title. MJF is a good wrestler but there are far better wrestlers out there. If it was all real with no stories and MJF decided when he was going to defend the belt, any company WWE, WCW, ECW would fire him or at least strip him of the belt. If AEW is trying to say MJF is so fantastic they can’t exist without him, all I can say is AEW is in a hell of a state.
