Welcome to Live Results blog for AEW Rampage September 16, 2022 episode which will feature ROH World TV Championship match between Samoa Joe and Josh Woods.

Matt Hardy returns to AEW ring after a while and has chosen Darby Allin as his opponent. Ethan Page will face Danhausen while Penelope Ford will take on Willow Nightingale. We will also hear from TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

Darby Allin vs Matt Hardy

They lock up and Darby is able to bring Matt down into a side headlock. Matt gets back to his feet and works on Darby’s arm. Darby counters and puts on a side headlock. Darby hits a two-count with a crucifix. He low bridges Hardy to the floor and sends him into the steel steps. Darby misses a senton on the apron and falls to the floor. Matt hits elbows to his back before hitting a powerbomb on the ring post. Matt arches Darby’s back using the ring post now. We cut to a break.

Matt is in control as we return and continues to punish Darby’s back. Darby avoids some attck in the corner and gets a two-count with jackknife cover. He hits a big boot and back slashes in the corner. Matt counters with a Side Effect to get a near fall. Matt hits another side effect. He poses with his Delete signal. Darby counters Twist of Fate with a backslide for a two-count. Darby hits a DDT and both men are down now. Darby goes to the top but Matt picks him up to hit Razor’s Edge for a near fall. Matt goes to the top but misses a moonsault. Darby hits Code Red for a near fall. Darby goes for another pin by hooking the leg in sharpshooter and gets the three count.

Winner – Darby Allin

Darby Allin shows some respect for Hardy before leaving to the back. The lights go out and Brody King is in the ring when they come back. Julia Hart is on the floor. Brody drops Hardy and then calls out Sting and Darby Allin. They come out to the stage. Brody challenges them for a No Disqualification tag team match at Grand Slam Rampage next week. Brody puts Hardy in a choke on the ropes. Julia removes Hardy’s legs from the apron and Hardy is put to sleep. The lights go out again and House of Black is gone when they return.


ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli comes out to the ring with Wheeler Yuta. Claudio says ROH title represents honor and Blackpool Combat Club represents respect. Claudio says Wheeler will ROH Pure title back soon. He brings up how Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley are in the final of World Championship Tournament. Claudio says next week, BCC will have two World Champions on their ranks.

Chris Jericho cuts him off and says Claudio has forgotten about Jericho Appreciation Society. Jericho says he is a 7-time World Champion and brings up not being in AEW World title match next week. Claudio starts a “You tapped out” chant. Jericho says he has been a World Champion in WWF, WWE, WCW and AEW, but he has never been a World Champion in ROH. Jericho challenges Claudio for ROH World title match on Dynamite. Claudio says he is waiting for this match for a long time and accepts the challenge.


Jade Cargill is backstage with her Baddies for an interview. Baddies say all this winning around is getting boring. They get interrupted by Diamante who says she is up for a challenge if Cargill is getting bored. Diamante says she will not be alone and brings baddest bitch from 305 with her.

Penelope Ford vs Willow Nightingale

Ford starts with a knee strike to midsection. Willow tackles her to the mat and puts on side headlock. Ford hits a kick to midsection. Willow gets a few pin attempts going. She stops a boot, ducks a clothesline and hits a big chop and a diving crossbody to get a two-count. Ford avoids a pounce and hits dropkick to Willow’s back. Ford hits double knees on the apron to take us to a break.

Willow hits a back splash in the corner and then hits a big boot. She hits a spinebuster to get a two-count. Ford ducks a clothesline with a back bridge and hits a cutter to get a two-count. Willow avoids a move from the top and tackles Ford to the floor. Ford hits a big boot as she returns to the ring and puts on Indian Deathlock and bridges it into a choke to get a submission.

Winner – Penelope Ford

We get to know about Golden Ticket Battle Royal at Grand Slam Rampage next week. Lexi Nair is with Dark Order and Hangman Adam Page. Page apologizes for loss at AEW Trios tournament Final. Rush and Jose the Assistant come in. Jose says Hangman rises up and then falls down, but Andrade is trying to raise 10’s career. The argument continues for a while. Rush says something to Page in Spanish which he and Dark Order could not understand.

Ethan Page vs Danhausen

Danhausen mocks Page like he is about to curse him. Page drops him with a big boot and then unloads on him on the mat. Danhausen slaps him before Page tackles him. Page hits Ego’s Edge to get the pin.

Winner – Ethan Page

Ricky Starks cuts a video promo admitting that Powerhouse Hobbs threw him off his game by unleashing QT Marshall and The Factory on him. But now, Hobbs has his undivided attention. He warns Hobbs to think about his loved ones before taking on him next week in New York.


We get split screen between Samoa Joe and Josh Woods. Woods says Joe will get a fight tonight. Mark Sterling says Joe has been on a vacation while Woods was grinding out wins. Joe says his vacation was him being generous over people like Woods who does not get destroyed by him every week.

Samoa Joe(c) vs Josh Woods – ROH World TV Championship

Joe pushes Woods to the corner before they engage in some grappling. Woods goes for a neck crank. Joe reverses it. They trade big blows. Joe hits his signature jabs. Woods blocks a headbutt and hits knee strikes. Woods holds onto Joe’s arm to strike against the ropes when Joe throws him out of the ring. The referee’s attention was turned by Mark Sterling. Tony Nese pulls Joe’s arm against the ropes again. Woods comes back in to get at two-count. We cut to a break.

Woods is trying to lock on the arm but Joe is clasping his hands together to avoid it. Woods continues to work on the arm. Joe suddenly puts him in the Coquina clutch. Joe hits an armbreaker and hits a belly to back suplex. Joe fires jabs and chops. Joe hits a Manhatten drop, big boot and a clothesline to get a two-count.

Joe hits a powerslam to get another two-count. Sterling helps Woods block a Muscle Buster while the referee was distracted by Nese. Woods hits a ripcord knee and GTS to get a near fall. Joe counters with STO and then nails Nese off the apron. Joe hits Muscle Buster to get the pin.

Winner – Samoa Joe

After the match, Nese jumps on Joe from behind. Woods and Nese beat up Joe. Sterling picks up the title but TNT Champion Wardlow’s music hits and he comes out. Joe catches Sterling’s legs and Wardlow pulls him in for a powerbomb. Nese pulls Sterling out of the ring. Wardlow and Joe face off for a while before celebrating together.
