AEW will present its first Rampage of 2022 on January 7, 2022. A No Holds Barred tag-team match has been announced for the show. It will be a pre-taped event that will be taped alongside the January 5 episode of AEW Dynamite at the Prudential Center, Newark, NJ.

Jake Atlas will make his AEW TV debut as he faces Adam Cole. Hook vs Aaron Solo, and a couple of tag team matches are also announced for the show.

Adam Cole vs Jake Atlas

The match starts with some arm wrench and counters, into a headlock. Cole with forearm shots. Atlas misses a dropkick and then avoids a pump kick. They come to a stalemate. Cole kicks at his knee. Atlas hits a dropkick for a two-count. Atlas hits a chop in the corner and then nails a kick. Cole pushes him to the floor as he goes to the top. Cole slams his face into the ring post.

Cole in control as he brings Atlas back to the ring. Atlas tries to fight back with forearm and rolling elbow strikes. Cole counters a springboard with a backstabber. We cut to a break.

Atlas hits a hurricanrana as we return. Cole goes to the floor and Atlas hits him with a baseball slide and a tope suicida. Back to the ring, Atlas nails a shotgun dropkick for a two-count. Cole hits back with a pump kick and Ushi Garoshi for a two-count of his own.

Cole hits an enziguiri. Atlas hits back with a superkick and a short clothesline. Cole comes back with a brainbuster. Atlas hits a running boot and falcon arrow for a two-count. Cole hits another superkick. Cole was going for the Panama Sunrise but he stops in between due to a probable injury to his knee. Cole puts on the knee bar to get the submission win.

Winner – Adam Cole

After the match, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly come into the ring. Orange Cassidy and Best Friends come out to make the save.

Dustin Rhodes vs Sammy Guevara interim TNT Championship match is announced for Battle of the Belts. This comes after Cody Rhodes is out of the show due to a medical protocol.

Hook vs Aaron Solow

Hook starts with back drop suplex. Hook brings down Solow after a waistlock switch. Hook beats up Solow in the corner. QT Marshall grabs his leg and Solow takes advantage. Hook quickly comes back with a Russian Leg Sweep. Hook puts on the octopus stretch. Solow comes out of it by picking his leg. Hook hits a gutwrench suplex. Some running the ropes before he hits Taz suplex. Hook with hammerblows to the neck before putting on the Redrum to get the submission win.

Winner – Hook

QT Marshall gets into the ring after the match and tries to attack him. Hook drops him with a suplex.

Ricky Starks announces FTW title match for the Battle of the Belts event against Matt Sydal. He says he will send a message to Dante Martin by beating Matt Sydal.

Ruby Soho & Riho vs Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter

Baker and Hayter attack Riho before the bell and before Soho could get into the ring. Soho runs down and attacks her opponents. The bell rings as Soho and Hayter go at it. Riho and Soho work double team on Hayter. Hayter escapes from the corner to tag in Baker. Soho takes upper hand over Baker and hits a kick to Baker’s chest. Riho tags in. She tags Soho back into the match.

Baker takes control with some forearm strikes. Rebel grabs Soho’s boot and Baker and Hayter takes her down as we go to a break.

Soho hits a saito suplex on Baker as we return. Hot tag to Riho and she nails Hayter with a dropkick. An enziguiri and drop toe hold is followed by 619. Baker breaks the pin. Riho fights against the double team and hits a DDT on Hayter. Riho climbs to the top by Baker pushes him to the mat. Hayter hits a backbreaker and Baker hits her with a superkick. Soho breaks the pin. Hayter and Baker crash into each other and Riho rolls up Hayter to get the pin.

Winner – Ruby Soho & Riho

Adam Cole vs Jake Atlas: Adam Cole has challenged the newcomer Jake Atlas for a match at Rampage.

Hook vs Aaron Solow: Hook will participate in his third match and will be taking on Nightmare Factory’s Aaron Solow.

No Holds Barred Match: On the New Year’s Eve episode of Rampage, it was announced that Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz will face Daniel Garcia and 2point0 in a No Holds Barred match. Last week, Chris Jericho made the save when Daniel Garcia and 2point0 were beating the team of Kingston. So, will he get involved this week again? 

Women’s Tag Team Match: Britt Baker will face Riho at Battle of the Belts. But before that, she will team up with Jamie Hayter to take on Ruby Soho and Riho. This match comes after Baker mocked and attacked Soho backstage, and Riho came out to make the save.

  1. im typically an aew fan..but that battle of the belts card is a massive letdown..sky vs sammy with sky winning would make more sense to push the cody stuff with sky and page…and starks vs sydal is just random
