AEW Dynamite May 3, 2023: Two Tag Team Matches Announced

4 Pillars Tag Team Match AEW Dynamite May 3 2023

AEW has announced two tag team matches for May 3, 2023 episode with one match having World Title stakes for Double or Nothing 2023.

AEW conducted a 4-Pillars tournament on the last two Dynamite episodes to identify the challenger for AEW World Champion MJF at Double or Nothing 2023. MJF and Sammy Guevara got into cahouts. MJF signed a blank cheque to Sammy if he managed to win the tournament to become his challenger and laid down to lose to MJF.

Sammy defeated Jungle Boy Jack Perry last week in the first match of the tournament after MJF hit Jungle Boy with Dynamite Diamond Ring. Sammy faced Darby Allin this week on Dynamite and MJF threw in Darby skateboard to him. Sammy acted as if Darby used the skateboard to hit him. As a result, the referee called for a disqualification and gave the match to Sammy.

However, that was not the end of it. AEW President Tony Khan then announced via Tony Schiavone that Darby and Jungle Boy will face MJF and Sammy in a tag team match next week. If they win the match, then Darby and Jungle Boy will be added to AEW World Title match at Double or Nothing 2023.

The other tag match announced next week will see Jericho Appreciation Society taking on Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy and Bandido. Cassidy defeated Bandido to defend AEW International Championship on Dynamite this week. Later, Adam Cole called out Chris Jericho to avenge Jericho leading a beatdown on Cole and Britt Baker last week.

Jericho sent Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Jake Hager and Daniel Garcia to attack Cole. Cassidy and Bandido ran out to make the save but JAS still kept the upper hand with their numbers advantage. Roderick Strong made his AEW debut as he ran out to save Cole and others. Cole and Strong hugged in the ring after JAS retreated.

AEW later announced a tag team match with Cole, Cassidy, Bandido and Strong on one side and the four attackers from JAS on the other side.
