Welcome to the live results page for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2023 special on September 20, 2023, live from Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

MJF defended AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe. Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston clashed in ROH World titlte vs NJPW Strong Openweight title match. Saraya defended AEW Women’s Championship for the first time since winning the title as she takes on Toni Storm.

Additionally, Jon Moxley and Rey Fenix clashed in a rematch, but Moxley’s AEW International title was be on the line this time around. Friends turned competitors as Chris Jericho faced Sammy Guevara. LIVE UPDATES

Claudio Castagnoli vs Eddie Kingston – Title vs Title Match

They trade heavy chops and forearms for a while to start the match. This continues for more than a minute. The action spills to the floor. Eddie sends Claudio into barricade. Claudio drops him on the floor with a clothesline. Eddie catches Claudio with a dragon screw leg on the ropes. He hits a low dropkick. Claudio hits back with a gutwrench bomb. Eddie blocks Neutralizer. A big slap is followed by a German Suplex from Eddie to get a two-count.

Eddie hits hammer fists and then hits a spinning back fist. Claudio pulls him over with a suplex to drop Eddie on the plexiglass on the ramp. Claudio stomps on the hand. A clothesline takes Eddie back to the ring. Claudio hits a double stomp on the arm by jumping from the second rope. Eddie dodges the diving headbutt from the top rope. Claudio hits an uppercut to keep control and take us to a break.

Claudio is firing uppercuts in anger in the corner as we return. He hits TKO driver to get a two-count. Eddie starts to no-sell boots to the face. He gets Claudio into backslide to get a two-count. Kingston hits an enzuigiri and a dragon suplex. Kingston hits a lariat in the corner. He hits machine gun chops before Claudio starts to no-sell. Claudio blocks a Northern Lights bomb but Eddie hits knee strikes to the face. They trade blow to blow. Eddie drops him with a big hammer fist. Eddie blocks the Ricola bomb and hits one himself.

Claudio hits Ricola Bomb in the second attempt for a near fall. Eddie hits back fists, a suplex, another back fist and a Northern Light Suplex for near fall. Castagnoli lands an uppercut before Eddie hits another backfist and a powerbomb to get the pinfall.

Winner – Eddie Kingston

Claudio offers a handshake after the match and Kingston accepts it. Claudio throws him the title before leaving.


In a segment from last week, The Kingdom are backstage with Roderick Strong on bed. They read cards to him. Adam Cole then comes in and The Kingdom mock him for the convenient timing to show up as they were leaving. Cole says he also has to leave as MJF has a title match.

Chris Jericho vs Sammy Guevara

After a back-and-forth match, Jericho countered a splash with Codebreaker to get the pinfall. After the match, they shake hands and hug, but Sammy then hits Jericho with a mule kick. Don Callis then comes out and we get to know that Sammy has joined the Don Callis Family.


MJF and Adam Cole arrive at the venue. MJF does his promo in the parking against Samoa Joe. Cole is busy on a call from Roderick Strong and leaves to check on him.

Jon Moxley(c) vs Rey Fenix – AEW International Championship

A brutal match featuring Rey’s luchador action and Moxley’s finesse. Rey’s piledriver seemed to have hurt Moxley in the final second. He hit another piledriver to get the pinfall.

Saraya(c) vs Toni Storm – AEW Women’s Championship

Toni hit Ruby Soho with her shoes at ringside when she tried to interfere. Toni also hit Saraya with the shoue but she kicked out. Saraya hit knightcap once but Toni kicked out. Ruby handed the spray paint to Saraya who sprayed on Toni before hitting another Knightcap to get the pinfall.

MJF(c) vs Samoa Joe – AEW Championship

MJF is avoiding a lock up. He rakes Joe’s eyes and jumps on his back. Joe drops on his back to slam MJF. Joe starts to work on the neck. MJF hits elbows to midsection but Joe slams him to the mat. Joe hits a Manhattan drop before MJF avoids a clothesline. Joe slams him to the corner before a big boot and senton to get a two-count. MJF hits a body shots. Joe hits an Urinage from the corner to get a two-count. We cut to another break.

MJF is firing punches as we return. MJF hits a thurst kick. He follows up with short arm lariats. He hits a clothesline but Joe refuses to go down and drops MJF with a lariat instead to get a near fall. Joe pulls out MJF’s New York Jets flag and throws it. MJF starts to hulk up and no-sells some shots from Joe. MJF fires shots before taking Joe to the corner to slam his head into turnbuckle several times. He hits countdown punches before biting the face. MJF hits a Kangaroo kick to send Joe out of the ring. MJF is also on the mat grabbing his neck. Joe cuts off MJF’s suicide dive on the ropes. Joe hits a Death Valley Driver on the apron.

MJF kicks out of the pin in the ring. Joe takes him out of the ring again and hits an Urinage to put MJF through a table. Back to the ring, MJF kicks out again. Joe exposes the floor in front of the announce table. MJF blocks a piledriver. He goes for a piledriver but his neck gives up. Joe hits a piledriver on the exposed floor. The medical team is out to check on MJF. Joe takes him back to the ring and MJF kicks out again very close to three-count. MJF spits at Joe when he picks him up. MJF ducks a lariat and hits a Liger bomb to get a near fall himself.

MJF gets a two-count with a roll-up. MJF goes for sleeper choke. Joe drives him into the corner towards the referee, and the referee has to jump out of the ring. A medical personnel checks on him. Meanwhile, Cole gets on the apron. Joe gets towards him. MJF gets his wristape to choke Joe. He wraps his arm the tape to hide it. The referee returns to the ring and checks on Joe to call the match.

Winner – MJF

After the match, Joe shakes hands with MJF to give his respect. MJF and Cole stand tall to close the show.
